The problem this seat exists to solve
This engagement examines how performance measures influence cooperation across functions. It addresses situations where local targets encourage behaviour that weakens the overall service, product or customer outcome. The advisor will recommend a manageable measurement system that clarifies trade-offs and supports learning, rather than adding a larger reporting pack.
Examine behaviour as well as data
Review current measures and trace the decisions they drive. Identify targets that transfer work, defer problems or encourage premature completion. Test definitions, data quality and the accountable manager's ability to influence the result. Distinguish an indicator suitable for diagnosis from one appropriate for formal accountability.
Work with operational and finance leaders to connect customer outcomes, service reliability, resource use and risk. Show where a shared measure is needed and where functional expertise requires a specific standard. Avoid averaging away differences between customer groups, case complexity or operating environments. Examine whether reporting frequency helps managers intervene or merely consumes their attention.
Construct a practical alternative
Propose a limited set of measures with clear definitions, interpretation guidance and review questions. Explain what each cannot establish and what evidence belongs alongside it. Design a trial in which managers use the information for actual resource or process decisions. Review collection costs and remove reports that no longer support a decision.
The advisor may facilitate discussions and coach interpretation. Responsibility for objectives, remuneration and individual performance remains with authorised management. Advice should explain the implications of linking a measure to incentives rather than assuming every useful indicator should become a target.
**Perspective required of the advisor.**
Candidates should combine operational performance experience with analytical judgement and an understanding of organisational behaviour. Applications should describe a metric that produced an unintended consequence and how the system changed. The ability to communicate uncertainty without making the analysis unusable is essential. Experience gaining agreement across functions with conflicting objectives will be particularly useful.
The engagement concludes with tested recommendations and a governance route for maintaining definitions. Leaders should distinguish real improvement from displacement, explain variation and intervene without creating another cycle of target gaming. The resulting information should support better conversations as well as better decisions.

Before you apply — an advisory engagement
No office of director, and no appointment formalities.
An advisory engagement creates no directorship in Norway. There is no registry filing, no regulator pre-approval, no residency arithmetic and no statutory director liability — which is why it is so often the right first step into a market you do not yet know.
- On this brief
- Independence
- Where the engagement specifies independence from any search that follows, that is a requirement of the engagement rather than a courtesy — an adviser to a board is not a candidate for it.

Norway·Business Services & Diversified
Operating model design organisation in Norway
This appointment will advise on the division of responsibility between enterprise leadership and operating units. The mandate concerns where common direction adds value, where local knowledge should govern and how the enterprise can maintain visibility without repeatedly intervening in routine decisions. The advisor must make the resulting trade-offs explicit and operationally credible.
Advisor on Change Capacity and Workforce Adoption
Norway·Business Services & Diversified
Operating model design organisation in Norway
This advisory role examines whether an organisation has the managerial and workforce capacity to absorb its planned changes. It focuses on the interaction between operational demand, training, process redesign and competing initiatives. The advisor should identify where a programme relies on invisible employee effort and propose choices that make adoption achievable without compromising everyday service.
Advisor on Post-Acquisition Operating Integration
Norway·Business Services & Diversified
Operating model design organisation in Norway
The advisor will help leadership determine how acquired operations should connect to the wider enterprise. The work concerns operating choices: which capabilities should become common, which should remain distinct and what must be protected while leaders learn how the businesses function. Integration recommendations must follow the investment rationale and customer economics rather than a predetermined degree of consolidation.
