Commodity credit and warehousing organisation in India
The problem this seat exists to solve
Handover should include a stable operating model, accountable process owners, an evidence-backed readiness record and a prioritised list of remaining improvements. Completion means that the organisation can run the programme safely and explain its exceptions, with permanent teams capable of managing the transaction lifecycle after the interim director leaves.
What has to be true at handover
The interim director will deliver an inventory finance programme from approved commercial design through operational readiness and initial transaction execution. The assignment owns the implementation plan, cross-functional decisions and delivery team. It does not confer authority to change lending appetite, approve customers or bypass legal conditions for launch.
Reconcile the operating assumptions
The programme must join together credit policy, warehouse onboarding, customer documentation, reporting and treasury processes. The director will identify where teams have designed incompatible assumptions, such as daily collateral reporting against monthly warehouse records or immediate stock release against delayed payment confirmation. Resolving those gaps is more important than maintaining an optimistic launch date.
Launch gates with meaningful evidence
The appointee will define readiness criteria that can be demonstrated through sample transactions. Staff must be able to calculate availability, recognise ineligible stock, authenticate instructions and handle a collateral shortfall. Test cases should include substitutions, quality deterioration, late reports and a disputed release request.
Provider readiness will cover contractual responsibilities, escalation contacts and the ability to supply required evidence. The director will coordinate legal and risk sign-off while ensuring that commercial teams understand the customer consequences of unresolved conditions. Any request to launch with a gap must be presented to the authorised sponsor with its exposure and compensating controls.
Once operating, the programme will track early transactions closely enough to distinguish isolated learning issues from flaws in the design. The director can reprioritise delivery resources and correct processes within approved scope. Material changes to product economics, contractual obligations or risk acceptance require renewed approval.
Delivery experience that fits the work
Applicants need experience implementing commodity finance, collateral services or secured working-capital products across several functions. They should demonstrate an ability to translate policy into executable workflows and challenge schedules that depend on untested assumptions. Familiarity with warehouse operations and credit administration is essential.
The role requires clear executive communication, practical issue resolution and ownership of uncomfortable decisions. Technology delivery experience is useful where reporting systems are involved, but this is a business implementation mandate rather than a software project alone.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in India usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in India
- A non-executive director attending board meetings travels on a business visa. An executive or whole-time role requires an employment visa.
