Agricultural commodities organisation in Switzerland
The problem this seat exists to solve
Candidates need integration or operational-change leadership in agribusiness, commodity distribution or a closely related physical-product environment. They should demonstrate the ability to reconcile detail, manage competing priorities and maintain continuity while changing processes. Generic programme experience without understanding of physical transactions will need to be supported by strong relevant operating exposure.
Bring operational control to a business combination
The interim manager will lead the practical integration of agricultural trading or distribution activities following organisational combination. The assignment concerns continuity of contracts, stock visibility, customer service and internal control while responsibilities and systems change. It requires disciplined execution across functions rather than a declaration that integration is complete because reporting lines have been redrawn.
Reconcile obligations before moving processes
Map the activities that must continue without interruption and identify the systems, people and external relationships supporting them. Establish ownership of open contracts, stock, receivables and claims before transferring processes. Review whether inherited data can be trusted and what reconciliation is required before it enters a common reporting environment.
Sequence change around exposure
Build an integration plan that recognises seasonal peaks and committed deliveries. Lead decisions on process alignment within the delegated remit, while escalating changes that affect contractual obligations or material commercial risk. A process should not be moved simply because a central system is ready if the operational team cannot yet execute it reliably.
Coordinate commercial, logistics, quality, finance and technology workstreams through explicit dependencies. Track decisions as well as tasks. Where the preferred common process would remove a useful control or local capability, make the trade-off visible and obtain the appropriate decision rather than forcing uniformity for its own sake.
A functioning operation at handover
The engagement should leave clear permanent ownership, reconciled opening positions and documented processes for the integrated activities. Handover must identify remaining exceptions, unresolved claims and any temporary controls still required. The manager will have delivery authority within the agreed integration plan, but will not independently change trading strategy, material contracts or staffing commitments outside delegated limits. Success is a functioning operation with transparent residual risk, not merely the completion of a checklist.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in Switzerland usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Switzerland
- A non-executive director attending board meetings does not require a residence permit. Executive roles do, and non-EU/EFTA nationals face a quota system.
