Infrastructure finance organisation in Belgium
The problem this seat exists to solve
The interim CFO will lead the finance integration of infrastructure investments into a coherent management and reporting environment. The assignment is concerned with control, debt obligations and decision usefulness. It does not assume that every asset should use identical processes where contractual or operating differences justify variation.
Integrate without flattening differences
Candidates need senior finance leadership in infrastructure or asset-intensive investment environments, including acquisition integration or establishment of group controls. Experience should include both the technical close and the practical management of dispersed finance teams. Debt literacy, forecasting discipline and comfort with incomplete information are essential.
Applicants should describe how they have chosen between standardisation and local flexibility, and how they ensured controls continued after the integration team departed.
Reconcile the investment as acquired
Establish an opening view of cash, debt, commitments, accounting policies and financial reporting quality. Reconcile transaction assumptions with the operating information now available. Identify matters that affect financing compliance, distributions, capital expenditure or the reliability of the consolidated forecast, and prioritise them according to consequence.
Choose what becomes central
Create a clear finance operating model defining what remains at asset level and what belongs centrally. Set standards for close, forecasting, investment approval and debt reporting. Ensure that local teams understand the purpose of the information requested and that central reporting does not conceal material project-specific risks.
Make inherited obligations operable
Review inherited lender obligations and build a calendar with named owners. Address weaknesses in bank access, payment authority, intercompany accounting and cash visibility. Coordinate with operations and technology teams where data quality depends on systems or working practices. Escalate findings that change the investment case rather than allowing integration reporting to become a record of completed administrative tasks.
Handover evidence
Leave a reliable consolidated financial view, reconciled opening positions, functioning approval controls and an owned schedule of financing obligations. Document material differences between acquisition assumptions and current expectations, with agreed actions. The CFO acts within delegated executive authority; changes to funding, distributions and material investment require appropriate approval. The quality of the handover and the ability of permanent teams to operate the new arrangements will carry as much weight as the initial integration milestones.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in Belgium usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Belgium
- A non-executive director attending board meetings requires no permit. An executive seat held by a non-EEA national requires a professional card or work permit depending on the structure.

Belgium·Business Services & Diversified
Organisational recovery organisation in Belgium
The director will take executive responsibility for an operating integration requiring renewed direction. The mandate concerns unresolved interfaces, duplicated responsibilities and benefits that have not become normal business performance. It requires reassessing the remaining work and implementing a credible plan rather than simply reviving the original programme schedule.
Interim Technology Supplier Delivery Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
The role carries executive responsibility for the agreed delivery plan and coordination of internal and supplier work. Contract amendments, settlement decisions and material expenditure remain with authorised officers. The engagement should conclude with accepted capability, clear support responsibilities and a documented position on outstanding work or claims. Handover must make any remaining supplier dependence visible. Success is a service the organisation can operate and govern, rather than a collection of completed supplier milestones that leaves the most important integration work unresolved.
Interim Technology Modernisation Programme Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
Candidates should have led substantial technology-enabled change in a controlled or public-interest service environment. They need strong programme leadership, technical fluency and evidence of managing stakeholders with different objectives. Seniority should be demonstrated through the complexity of decisions handled and outcomes delivered, not simply through a prior title.
