The problem this seat exists to solve
The programme lead will take responsibility for coordinating business and technology change across several functions. The assignment is to turn an agreed ambition into a sequence of decisions, delivery work and operational adoption. It requires practical programme leadership; a previous chief information officer title is not necessary where the candidate can demonstrate relevant responsibility and results.
Establish the decisions that make the programme deliverable
Review the intended outcomes and the commitments already made. Identify dependencies, unresolved policy choices and assumptions about staff capacity. Build a plan that makes these visible rather than treating every issue as a task that can be completed by the project team alone.
Lead the integrated work
Own the delivery rhythm, decision log and escalation route within the agreed mandate. Workstream leaders should know what they are accountable for and how their work affects others. Reporting must distinguish activity from accepted outcomes and show where confidence has changed.
Coordinate technology, process and people changes so that a technical release is not mistaken for business readiness. Ensure receiving managers participate in defining acceptance and understand the resources required to operate the change. Where priorities conflict, bring explicit choices to the sponsor rather than allowing teams to receive incompatible instructions.
Evidence expected from candidates
Candidates should have led cross-functional programmes with direct accountability for delivery and adoption. They need technical fluency, structured problem-solving and the ability to work with stakeholders under uncertainty. Evidence of resolving a difficult dependency or changing an unrealistic plan is particularly useful.
Authority and exit state
The role carries authority over the agreed programme process and coordination, with budget, staffing and policy decisions exercised only within delegated limits. Executive sponsors retain material approvals and ownership of benefits.
The engagement should leave implemented changes in permanent ownership, with unresolved work and risks explicitly assigned. Handover must identify what has been tested in practice and what remains dependent on further action. Success is a service or operating process that works more reliably, not a green status report achieved by narrowing the definition of completion after delivery. The lead must maintain an accurate account of progress even when that requires revisiting a previously communicated date.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in Belgium usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Belgium
- A non-executive director attending board meetings requires no permit. An executive seat held by a non-EEA national requires a professional card or work permit depending on the structure.

Belgium·Business Services & Diversified
Organisational recovery organisation in Belgium
The director will take executive responsibility for an operating integration requiring renewed direction. The mandate concerns unresolved interfaces, duplicated responsibilities and benefits that have not become normal business performance. It requires reassessing the remaining work and implementing a credible plan rather than simply reviving the original programme schedule.
Interim Technology Supplier Delivery Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
The role carries executive responsibility for the agreed delivery plan and coordination of internal and supplier work. Contract amendments, settlement decisions and material expenditure remain with authorised officers. The engagement should conclude with accepted capability, clear support responsibilities and a documented position on outstanding work or claims. Handover must make any remaining supplier dependence visible. Success is a service the organisation can operate and govern, rather than a collection of completed supplier milestones that leaves the most important integration work unresolved.
Interim Technology Modernisation Programme Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
Candidates should have led substantial technology-enabled change in a controlled or public-interest service environment. They need strong programme leadership, technical fluency and evidence of managing stakeholders with different objectives. Seniority should be demonstrated through the complexity of decisions handled and outcomes delivered, not simply through a prior title.
