Retail and franchise networks organisation in Belgium
The problem this seat exists to solve
The interim distribution director will lead operational readiness for expansion across a retail or partner network. The mandate is to ensure that new locations can open with a support model that works, while protecting the performance of existing operations.
Build the ability to support growth before multiplying locations
Assess the capacity of supply, training, systems, regional management and service support against the proposed opening sequence. Identify assumptions that have not been tested and dependencies that could delay readiness. Make the consequences of accelerating the plan explicit to the accountable executive or board.
Readiness should be evidenced
Define practical opening requirements and decision gates. Coordinate site and central teams so that stock, people, access, processes and customer support are ready together. Distinguish a condition that can be managed temporarily from one that should prevent launch.
The director will own the integrated readiness plan and resolve cross-functional obstacles within delegation. Escalate major investment, commercial or timing decisions that exceed authority. Maintain a clear record of accepted exceptions and their owners so that temporary workarounds do not become invisible permanent obligations.
Required operating experience
Candidates should have led multi-site expansion or network mobilisation with direct accountability for execution. They need practical experience of opening locations and supporting them after launch, not only negotiating sites or appointing partners. Financial literacy, planning discipline and the ability to challenge unrealistic schedules are essential.
Applicants should describe how they handled an opening that was commercially important but operationally unready. Evidence of protecting existing network performance during expansion will be particularly valuable.
Follow the opening into normal operation
Track early performance, support demand and recurring defects, and use the evidence to improve subsequent launches. Handover must include a repeatable readiness process, clear ownership and an honest account of remaining capacity constraints. Success is sustainable expansion with fewer avoidable failures and a support organisation able to cope after the launch team departs. The assignment should not be judged solely by the number of doors opened if those openings create service problems, excessive recovery costs or deterioration elsewhere in the network.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in Belgium usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Belgium
- A non-executive director attending board meetings requires no permit. An executive seat held by a non-EEA national requires a professional card or work permit depending on the structure.

Belgium·Business Services & Diversified
Organisational recovery organisation in Belgium
The director will take executive responsibility for an operating integration requiring renewed direction. The mandate concerns unresolved interfaces, duplicated responsibilities and benefits that have not become normal business performance. It requires reassessing the remaining work and implementing a credible plan rather than simply reviving the original programme schedule.
Interim Technology Supplier Delivery Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
The role carries executive responsibility for the agreed delivery plan and coordination of internal and supplier work. Contract amendments, settlement decisions and material expenditure remain with authorised officers. The engagement should conclude with accepted capability, clear support responsibilities and a documented position on outstanding work or claims. Handover must make any remaining supplier dependence visible. Success is a service the organisation can operate and govern, rather than a collection of completed supplier milestones that leaves the most important integration work unresolved.
Interim Technology Modernisation Programme Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
Candidates should have led substantial technology-enabled change in a controlled or public-interest service environment. They need strong programme leadership, technical fluency and evidence of managing stakeholders with different objectives. Seniority should be demonstrated through the complexity of decisions handled and outcomes delivered, not simply through a prior title.
