The problem this seat exists to solve
The board seeks a director with practical experience of technology-enabled service improvement and organisational change. Candidates may come from programme, operations or technology leadership, provided they can demonstrate senior judgement and understand director responsibilities. The seat does not require a prior CIO title, but it does require the ability to scrutinise material change on behalf of the full board.
Test the service case
Review proposals for digital or process change against the outcomes users and the organisation need. Ask which problem is being solved and whether the proposed approach addresses its cause. A new system should not be assumed to improve a service if responsibilities, information or policy remain unclear.
Challenge the realism of adoption plans. Frontline staff, managers and users may need to work differently, and the investment case should include the time and support required. The director should ask how management will know whether the change is being used as intended and what it will do if adoption is weak.
Examine the delivery exposure
Review dependencies, supplier commitments and the organisation's capacity to deliver alongside ordinary operations. Require clear escalation of decisions that affect scope, cost or service quality. The board needs evidence of readiness before accepting a major transition, not only confidence from the project team that a deadline can be met.
Evaluate results after launch
Support a benefits review that considers service reliability, user experience and operating cost together. Apparent efficiency may conceal work transferred to users or frontline teams. Management should explain those consequences and identify where adjustment is needed.
The director will examine service-change proposals and acceptance evidence through board deliberations and any assigned committee work. Project sponsors remain accountable for implementation, and service managers own live operations. Questions raised by the director should strengthen those responsibilities rather than introduce a competing route for delivery instructions.
Expected value includes stronger change proposals, realistic adoption assumptions and a board that can distinguish technical completion from service improvement. Candidates must disclose supplier, advisory and other commercial relationships that may affect independence. They should demonstrate constructive challenge and the ability to support management while remaining candid about evidence that a programme needs to change direction.

Belgium·Business Services & Diversified
Organisational recovery organisation in Belgium
The director will take executive responsibility for an operating integration requiring renewed direction. The mandate concerns unresolved interfaces, duplicated responsibilities and benefits that have not become normal business performance. It requires reassessing the remaining work and implementing a credible plan rather than simply reviving the original programme schedule.
Interim Technology Supplier Delivery Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
The role carries executive responsibility for the agreed delivery plan and coordination of internal and supplier work. Contract amendments, settlement decisions and material expenditure remain with authorised officers. The engagement should conclude with accepted capability, clear support responsibilities and a documented position on outstanding work or claims. Handover must make any remaining supplier dependence visible. Success is a service the organisation can operate and govern, rather than a collection of completed supplier milestones that leaves the most important integration work unresolved.
Interim Technology Modernisation Programme Director
Belgium·Technology & Digital Platforms
Secure software delivery organisation in Belgium
Candidates should have led substantial technology-enabled change in a controlled or public-interest service environment. They need strong programme leadership, technical fluency and evidence of managing stakeholders with different objectives. Seniority should be demonstrated through the complexity of decisions handled and outcomes delivered, not simply through a prior title.
