B2B software and industrial technology

Partner-sourced

Sourced through a partner search firm or the sponsor's own nomination committee, and verified before listing.

The problem this seat exists to solve

A technology company has strong products but inconsistent enterprise sales execution across markets. The adviser will sharpen customer selection, improve commercial discipline and help leadership build a repeatable route from technical value propositions to profitable contracts.

Market focus

You will segment target accounts by business need, buying complexity, competitive position and attainable value. You will review sales coverage, partner roles and account planning for priority industries.

Sales execution

  • Improve qualification, deal reviews and forecasting so pipeline quality can be assessed consistently.
  • Connect pricing and commercial terms to customer value, delivery cost and long-term account economics.
  • Coach sales leaders and align marketing, product and implementation teams around the agreed commercial model.

From diagnosis to a repeatable playbook

1. First month: diagnose pipeline, customer segmentation and major causes of stalled or unprofitable deals.

2. By month three: pilot revised account planning and qualification on a selected market or product.

3. At completion: hand over a commercial playbook and demonstrate changes in pipeline quality, forecast reliability or conversion against the baseline.

The adviser we are seeking

The role requires senior enterprise technology sales leadership, complex deal negotiation and experience managing multiple routes to market.

Additional useful experience includes industrial software, automation ecosystems and commercial transformation across several European countries.

Working relationship

The adviser works with the CEO or an appointed executive sponsor. Recommendations, analysis and coaching form the deliverables; management retains approval and implementation responsibility.

The initial advisory period is expected to run for three to six months, typically two to six days a month, with workshops scheduled around the agreed outputs. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — an advisory engagement

No office of director, and no appointment formalities.

An advisory engagement creates no directorship in the Netherlands. There is no registry filing, no regulator pre-approval, no residency arithmetic and no statutory director liability — which is why it is so often the right first step into a market you do not yet know.

International candidatures are accepted.
Independence
Where the engagement specifies independence from any search that follows, that is a requirement of the engagement rather than a courtesy — an adviser to a board is not a candidate for it.
