Technology acquisitions and software platform groups

Partner-sourced

Sourced through a partner search firm or the sponsor's own nomination committee, and verified before listing.

The problem this seat exists to solve

A software group has acquired a business with valuable engineering talent and a different technology stack. The programme director will protect product continuity and key capabilities while designing an integration approach that delivers a coherent operating model.

First understand what must be preserved

  • Assess platform dependencies, architecture differences, engineering skills and commitments to existing customers.
  • First month: deliver an integration assessment and protect critical product and talent dependencies.

Choose the integration path

You will define what should integrate, remain separate or be retired, supported by cost and delivery evidence. You will coordinate engineering, product, security and commercial teams around a phased roadmap.

By month three: approve the target operating model and launch priority integration work.

Manage people risk and verify value

You will manage retention and communication risks across sites, with clear responsibility for technical decisions. You will track integration costs, service impact and benefits and transfer ownership to permanent leaders.

By completion: achieve agreed platform and organisational milestones with customer continuity evidence and a documented benefits review.

Leadership background

The role requires senior engineering leadership plus demonstrated post-acquisition integration or comparable cross-organisational transformation experience.

Additional useful experience includes experience leading engineering teams across Europe and Latin America and rationalising overlapping software platforms.

Programme conditions

The executive sponsor sets the mandate and approves material changes to scope or funding. The programme director leads the agreed workstreams and delivery forum; the designated business owner accepts the completed work.

The expected engagement is six to twelve months, normally four to five days a week, linked to delivery and acceptance milestones. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role

An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in the Netherlands usually does not.

This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.

Position in the Netherlands
A non-executive or supervisory director attending meetings does not require a residence permit. Executive roles for non-EU nationals require a permit, commonly under the highly skilled migrant scheme.

International candidatures are accepted.
