The problem this seat exists to solve

A company is growing but cash generation and financial visibility have not kept pace. The CFO will improve working capital, restore forecast credibility and give the executive team a more useful view of customer, product and operating profitability.

Cash and forecast ownership

  • Diagnose cash tied up in receivables, inventory and supplier terms, distinguishing process issues from commercial decisions.
  • Introduce a reliable cash forecast and integrate it with the operating plan and financing needs.

Finance information and controls

You will improve management reporting so margin, working capital and performance variances are actionable. You will strengthen financial close, delegated approval and treasury routines without slowing essential operations.

Team capability and transition

You will develop finance team capability and prepare a documented handover to permanent leadership. By month six: show sustained gains against agreed cash, forecast and reporting measures and complete the finance leadership handover.

The first ninety days

1. First month: establish a reconciled cash and working capital baseline with immediate ownership of priority actions.

2. By day 90: implement revised forecasting and management reporting and demonstrate initial verified cash improvements.

Executive requirements and working terms

The role requires CFO experience, strong financial control and working capital management, and evidence of delivering changes through commercial and operations teams.

Additional useful experience includes verified professional accounting qualification and experience in multi-entity or cross-border operating groups.

The role carries executive delivery responsibility within an agreed budget and delegation. It reports to the CEO, or to the board where the appointment is for CEO. Major decisions follow the organisation’s reserved matters.

An initial six to nine months is envisaged, normally four to five days a week, including diagnosis and an orderly handover. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role

An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in the Netherlands usually does not.

This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.

Position in the Netherlands
A non-executive or supervisory director attending meetings does not require a residence permit. Executive roles for non-EU nationals require a permit, commonly under the highly skilled migrant scheme.

International candidatures are accepted.
