The problem this seat exists to solve

A sponsor-backed consumer business has lost commercial focus while pursuing growth. The interim CEO will restore accountability across sales and operations, rebuild management confidence and create a recovery plan that improves earnings quality as well as cash generation.

What the CEO will change

1. Diagnose margin deterioration through channel economics, promotional spending, customer terms and operating cost analysis.

2. Reset the commercial plan around defensible demand, pricing discipline and service commitments the supply chain can meet.

3. Align manufacturing capacity, procurement and inventory policies with the revised demand and cash plan.

Lead the team and the performance conversation

You will assess the executive team, clarify decision rights and address leadership gaps with the board. You will lead monthly performance reviews that distinguish recurring improvements from temporary savings and accounting effects.

The role carries executive delivery responsibility within an agreed budget and delegation. It reports to the CEO, or to the board where the appointment is for CEO. Major decisions follow the organisation’s reserved matters.

What you must have done before

The role requires CEO or equivalent enterprise leadership with direct P and L responsibility; evidence of commercial and operational turnaround execution and effective sponsor communication.

Additional useful experience includes experience in consumer durables, multi-channel businesses or manufacturing-led brand platforms.

From diagnosis to succession

**First 30 days.** Present a fact-based recovery diagnosis and stabilise the most urgent customer and cash risks.

**By day 100.** Implement a board-approved operating plan with commercial, operational and leadership actions.

**By months six to nine.** Show sustained progress in contribution margin, cash conversion and service delivery, and prepare the permanent CEO transition.

An initial six to nine months is envisaged, normally four to five days a week, including diagnosis and an orderly handover. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role

An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in the Netherlands usually does not.

This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.

Position in the Netherlands
A non-executive or supervisory director attending meetings does not require a residence permit. Executive roles for non-EU nationals require a permit, commonly under the highly skilled migrant scheme.
On this brief
International candidatures are accepted.
