Banking organisation in Greece
The problem this seat exists to solve
The director will contribute independent banking judgement to a board considering growth, organisational change and competing investment priorities. The role requires a broad view of the institution, linking commercial plans with capital, people, controls, customer outcomes and the capacity of management to execute.
A broad banking governor
This appointment suits an experienced banking leader who can contribute beyond a narrow functional specialism. The director must be willing to challenge strategy while also helping the board reach clear decisions and support executives once a defensible course has been agreed.
Candidates should have substantial senior banking leadership or non-executive experience, with a sound grasp of finance, risk and regulated governance. They must demonstrate an ability to weigh conflicting evidence and make decisions under uncertainty. Experience overseeing strategic change is valuable where the candidate can explain both intended and unintended consequences.
Applicants should show independence, preparation and the ability to work effectively with a diverse board. Familiarity with appointment-specific expectations and any required approvals will be assessed.
Strategy within real execution capacity
Test whether strategic plans state their assumptions, alternatives and dependencies plainly. Examine the sequencing of initiatives and whether the same scarce resources are being promised to multiple programmes. Ask how management will recognise that a plan is failing and what decisions would follow.
Information, debate and executive accountability
Review the quality of board information and the space available for genuine debate. Challenge reporting that presents all priorities as equally urgent or describes activity without showing consequences. Ensure that important disagreements between functions are surfaced rather than resolved through optimistic aggregation.
The director should support robust evaluation of executive capacity, succession and accountability. This includes asking whether responsibilities are clear and whether leaders have the authority and resources needed to deliver commitments. Oversight must remain constructive: the aim is stronger executive performance, not an alternative management hierarchy.
The director will participate in collective decisions, maintain appropriate availability and follow material conditions attached to approvals. Conflicts must be disclosed and managed. Management retains operating authority. Success is a board that makes fewer ambiguous commitments, understands the institution's practical capacity and can hold executives accountable against clear decisions rather than broad ambitions that cannot be tested.

The director will strengthen board oversight of concentration, liquidity and future funding commitments in an investment-oriented enterprise. Municipal and regional infrastructure
A utility is accelerating network and treatment infrastructure spending after years of deferred renewal. The director will help the board assess project prioritisation, procurement discipline and delivery readiness so scarce capital addresses the most material service and asset risks. You will challenge the evidence used to prioritise renewal projects, including asset condition, service impact and affordability.
