Secure software delivery organisation in United Kingdom
The problem this seat exists to solve
The lead will implement practical controls over the software supply chain, covering the path from source and dependencies to built artifacts and deployment. The assignment responds to the need for trustworthy delivery evidence, not merely a larger collection of scanning tools. It requires operational ownership of improvements across engineering, platform and security teams.
The operational mandate and exit state
The interim lead will own the improvement programme and coordinate operational implementation within approved authority. Formal risk acceptance, procurement and access decisions remain with designated owners. The engagement should leave a traceable delivery process, clear responsibilities and a sustainable exception mechanism. Handover must document residual exposures and the rationale for sequencing them. The role requires direct delivery accountability and is not satisfied by producing a policy document or recommending tools without establishing how they will operate.
Follow components from entry to deployment
Establish how software components enter the environment, who can change them and how their use is recorded. Review third-party dependencies, build processes and artifact handling to identify places where integrity or traceability is weak. Prioritise exposures according to the systems affected and the realistic ways a failure could reach production.
Lead the implementation of dependency review, artifact provenance and controlled release practices appropriate to the environment. Define how exceptions are assessed, approved and revisited. Ensure controls can be operated by delivery teams and do not rely permanently on a small specialist group manually reviewing every change.
Resolve inherited dependency exposure
Work with service owners to resolve inherited components and unsupported dependencies. A complete inventory is useful only if it leads to decisions about ownership, maintenance and replacement. Track remediation through verified outcomes, including cases where removing a dependency creates a migration or service risk that needs separate management.
Qualifications for implementing assurance
Candidates need practical engineering-security or platform leadership with experience implementing software supply-chain controls. They should understand build systems, dependency management and release operations, and be able to distinguish an urgent integrity concern from lower-priority hygiene work. Evidence of adoption by engineering teams is as important as technical design quality.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in the United Kingdom usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in the United Kingdom
- A non-executive director attending board meetings does not require a work visa; permitted business activities cover it. An executive or interim operating role requires a Skilled Worker visa or equivalent.

United Kingdom·Agribusiness & Food
Cooperative or mutual agribusiness and food systems organisation
At the front line of a member-owned agribusiness and food organisation, quality, capacity and cost decisions should be made together; an interim chief of supply chain and operations, reporting to the Board Operations Committee, has 12 months to make that the norm.
Interim Governance Director — Controls
United Kingdom·Agribusiness & Food
Cooperative or mutual agribusiness and food systems organisation
Aligning board succession with the work its portfolio requires is a 12-month task this member-owned agribusiness and food organisation is giving to an Interim Governance Director, reporting to the Board Chair.
Interim Commodity Operations Control Lead
United Kingdom·Agribusiness & Food
Agricultural commodities organisation in United Kingdom
Leave a controlled transaction process, documented reconciliations and a realistic backlog for remaining systems improvements. The permanent team should understand which exceptions require immediate action and which can follow a routine timetable. Management reporting must show unresolved exposure honestly rather than relying on the disappearance of old items from a spreadsheet.
