The problem this seat exists to solve
An organisation wants more reliable software delivery but has fragmented development tooling and unclear platform ownership. The director will create a service-oriented platform function that helps product teams deliver safely and predictably with less duplicated effort.
Begin with developer friction
You will assess developer workflows, build and release tooling and the support burden across teams. First month: establish the platform and delivery baseline and prioritise the highest-friction workflows.
Platform service ownership
- Define platform services, ownership and adoption priorities based on the needs of delivery teams.
- Improve release automation, observability and incident learning with security and operations partners.
- Develop platform engineering leaders and clarify the responsibilities shared with product teams.
- Measure platform usefulness through adoption, delivery experience and reliability outcomes rather than tooling deployment alone.
Pilot and adoption measures
1. By day 90: launch an agreed platform service pilot with clear support and ownership arrangements.
2. By month six: demonstrate improvements in adoption, delivery lead time or reliability and hand over the platform roadmap and operating model.
Leadership evidence
The role requires senior DevOps or platform engineering leadership with evidence of managing teams, improving software delivery and operating shared technology services.
Additional useful experience includes experience in large public institutions or environments with demanding assurance and service continuity needs.
The role carries executive delivery responsibility within an agreed budget and delegation. It reports to the CEO, or to the board where the appointment is for CEO. Major decisions follow the organisation’s reserved matters.
Interim working pattern
An initial six to nine months is envisaged, normally four to five days a week, including diagnosis and an orderly handover. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in Denmark usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Denmark
- A non-executive director attending board meetings requires no permit. Executive roles for non-EU/EEA nationals require a residence and work permit.

The adviser will help executives decide which uses deserve investment and establish practical governance before experiments become business-critical services. You will inventory proposed and deployed use cases, linking each to a business owner, affected users, data sources and measurable purpose.
Interim Chief Financial Officer — Refinancing
Denmark·Industrial Manufacturing
Industrial manufacturing organisation in Denmark
The brief is to determine what debt an industrial business can sustainably service and build the evidence needed to negotiate it. This is a financing-led CFO assignment in which operational forecasts, maturity planning and lender diligence must tell the same story.
Interim Chief Transformation Officer — Turnaround
Denmark·Industrial Manufacturing
Manufacturing organisation in Denmark
This turnaround mandate focuses on the operating choices behind manufacturing underperformance: capacity deployment, plant responsibilities, production complexity and the reliability of execution. The appointee must connect site-level decisions to enterprise cash and customer outcomes.
