The problem this seat exists to solve
A leveraged industrial group faces weakening cash conversion, an uneven plant footprint and declining lender confidence. The CRO will establish a credible liquidity position and coordinate a deliverable restructuring plan across operations, finance and shareholders.
The immediate mandate
The role carries executive delivery responsibility within an agreed budget and delegation. It reports to the CEO, or to the board where the appointment is for CEO. Major decisions follow the organisation’s reserved matters.
Liquidity and stakeholder confidence
- Build a rolling thirteen-week cash forecast with entity-level visibility and clear controls over exceptional payments.
- Lead management preparation for lender and shareholder discussions, supported by finance and specialist advisers.
Operational restructuring
You will challenge product, customer and site profitability, separating immediate cash actions from structural operating changes. You will coordinate the restructuring office so procurement, inventory, overhead and capacity actions have named owners and measurable milestones.
You will identify execution dependencies, workforce consultation needs and continuity risks before proposing major footprint decisions.
Required track record
The role requires senior restructuring leadership with hands-on liquidity management, industrial operating knowledge and evidence of coordinating lenders, owners and management during financial stress.
Additional useful experience includes experience in multi-country manufacturing, private equity ownership and operationally complex refinancing processes.
Delivery gates
1. First 30 days: establish reliable liquidity reporting, a decision calendar and a prioritised cash preservation programme.
2. By day 90: secure board agreement on a fully owned restructuring plan and stakeholder communication cadence.
3. By month six: demonstrate verified cash release and operating improvements against the plan, with unresolved funding risks explicitly escalated.
Appointment window
An initial six to nine months is envisaged, normally four to five days a week, including diagnosis and an orderly handover. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in Germany usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Germany
- A supervisory board member attending meetings does not require a residence permit. A management-board (Vorstand) appointment for a non-EU national does, and is a substantially heavier process.

- International candidatures are accepted.

Lender-Nominated Non-Executive Director
Germany·Industrial Manufacturing
Industrial business organisation in Germany
This seat calls for a director able to work effectively in a capital structure shaped by a debt-for-equity restructuring.
