A completed step can leave the household's task unfinished

I grew up in a Muslim family in Jamshedpur and completed civil engineering at Tezqumi Institute of Civil Studies in June 2000.

I lead product for a home-renovation lender by making the household's remaining cost, choices and servicing work visible alongside each step the company completes.

I am CPO of Qevluri Home Renewal Finance in Raipur. I lead eighteen product, research and design colleagues through three managers and report to the CEO. Our company serves borrowers through nineteen branches. The loan portfolio describes the enterprise's business, not authority delegated to my product team to approve applications or change contractual terms.

My first career was in building-cost surveys in Jamshedpur. A figure on a work schedule could be correct while leaving a household uncertain about what remained to pay or arrange. Moving into lending showed me a similar problem in another form. A sanction, a draw request and a completed repayment each mark a real event, but the customer may attach a wider meaning to the label than the company intends.

The cases examine the gap between a renovation budget and its financed portion, a contractor panel I had championed, a request to stop unused draws, the evidence route for irregular income and the work that continues after repayment. They include delays, foregone projected volume and people who still needed assistance after a redesign. My aim is a product account that stays with the household's actual task rather than celebrate an internal milestone as though it completed everything.

The work budget was larger than the loan

In a fictional ₹11.6 lakh renovation example, an ₹8 lakh loan left ₹3.6 lakh for the household to fund. Fourteen of forty rehearsal participants initially read the loan presentation as covering the whole project. The revised account separated the amounts and retained an assisted route.

A familiar contractor list implied more than we supplied

Fourteen of thirty-eight prospective users understood a preferred-contractor panel as assurance about the work's quality. I withdrew the proposal I had supported, giving up ₹18 crore of projected annual sourced loan volume rather than leave that interpretation to a small note.

Zero outstanding did not mean every service task was finished

A review of 180 recently repaid accounts found 118 with the reviewed post-repayment tasks complete and 62 still in process. We kept the customer service route open while qualified teams completed document and charge-related work; the product did not extend any applicable deadline.

Current focus

I am strengthening the way research findings reach product decisions, especially when a clearer account adds steps or reduces the apparent breadth of the offer. The team works with credit, operations and technical specialists so customer understanding is connected to the actual service, with unresolved needs funded rather than hidden behind a completed screen.

Conversations I welcome

I am interested in a first outside board contribution where customer interpretation affects consequential decisions. I have no statutory appointment and have not yet registered with the IICA databank or completed proficiency preparation. Twenty-two days is provisional, with employer consent, relationships, duties and the specific need for my contribution to be assessed.

Company service footprint at March 2026

380 employees and ₹920 crore loans; not personal credit authority

I design lending products around the household's task, including the part our own process does not complete. A loan amount does not describe the whole renovation budget. Stopping future draws does not erase money already borrowed. A cleared balance can leave documents and other servicing work outstanding. The product should help people understand those distinctions before they act. I also want the company to recognise when a useful-looking feature invites a promise it cannot support, even when removing that feature makes the commercial proposition less attractive.

Showing the part of the renovation the household still needed to fund

In 2022 we tested a product presentation using a fictional renovation budget of ₹11.6 lakh and an ₹8 lakh loan.

Withdrawing the contractor panel I had promoted

I supported a preferred-contractor panel in 2023 because it appeared to help households begin their renovation and create relevant introductions to our lending service.

Separating a request to stop unused draws from the debt already outstanding

A 2024 prototype offered a Cancel remaining loan control for customers who no longer needed the undrawn portion of a staged renovation facility.

In the words of others

Trusted by those who appoint.

Aftab withdrew the contractor proposition after research exposed a promise we could not support. He kept the projected volume we were giving up visible, instead of presenting the change as a costless improvement.
Anita ZavquniCEO, Qevluri Home Renewal Finance; fictional colleague
He followed a cleared balance into the service work the household still needed. The product change made that work visible without claiming that a screen had completed the documents or replaced our operating responsibilities.
