A Toulouse aerospace manufacturer commissions an eight-month architecture after long-dwell export assemblies suffered preservation breaks, incomplete shock evidence and disputed custody between plant, packer, forwarder and customer.

The mandate

Large aerostructures and mission assemblies leave production under approved condition but can wait months for customer-site readiness, export authorisation or specialist transport. Preservation clocks, barrier integrity, humidity records, shock indicators and access logs are held by different partners. When evidence fails, teams cannot establish whether to reinspect, represerve, reject or move, and commercial urgency encourages unsupported resets of the storage clock.

The deliverable is an Export-Preservation Logistics Architecture defining configuration identity, approved protection plan, packing acceptance, environmental and shock evidence, custody, access control, storage interval, inspection trigger, represervation, transport release, customer receipt and reusable-frame return. It must work across road, air, sea and interim storage while leaving engineering and quality disposition with authorised functions.

Eight assembly journeys, packaging families and current evidence breaks form the opening milestone at day twenty-eight. State and clock rules mature by week nine, enabling packing and warehouse controls in week thirteen. Modal handovers are due at eighteen; customer acceptance and frame-return design at twenty-three. Four full-scale trials continue through week twenty-nine, with the remaining three weeks used to accept the architecture and implementation backlog.

Acceptance requires client teams and partners to handle an unseen assembly with an expired preservation interval, incomplete humidity record, triggered shock indicator, route delay and customer-site refusal. They must preserve physical custody, obtain correct technical disposition, choose a lawful recovery route and reconcile returnable transport equipment without consultant interpretation or retrospective reconstruction.

The client will provide assembly configurations, approved preservation instructions, quality and engineering authorities, packaging designs, packing records, route and storage histories, sensor data, customs and export constraints, customer acceptance terms, claims files and frame registers. Exclusions include preservation engineering, quality release, export-control opinion, customs filing, package certification, carrier or packer selection, claim settlement, system build and command of live customer deliveries.

Manufacturing, quality, packers and forwarders each control a segment, while failure is discovered at the next boundary when neither condition nor elapsed protection can be defended. An independent aerospace-logistics operator can design one custody and preservation clock without assuming technical approval or advocating for a particular service provider.

What you will own

  • Trace eight assembly families across production release, preservation, primary pack, transport frame, storage, modal transfer, customer receipt and equipment return.
  • Define configuration, condition, protection plan, clock, sensor, seal, custodian, authorised access and release evidence at every state.
  • Design packing acceptance and warehouse routines for barrier inspection, environmental recording, access, interval review, represervation request and exception quarantine.
  • Join road, air and sea handovers to handling limits, shock evidence, route delay, customs status and remaining preservation life.
  • Establish reusable-frame identity, condition, custody, customer return, repair decision and availability without confusing frame and assembly ownership.
  • Rehearse four assemblies involving expired interval, humidity gap, shock trigger, route disruption, customs delay and customer refusal.
  • Deliver the architecture, preservation-state model, custody matrix, lane playbooks, trial evidence and accepted implementation backlog.

Candidate qualifications

  • Designed aerospace or comparable high-value engineered-cargo logistics across plant, specialist packer, warehouse, carrier and customer site.
  • Managed long-duration preservation, controlled access, environmental evidence, shock indication and transport-equipment custody.
  • Translated approved engineering and quality requirements into operational gates without making technical disposition or release decisions.
  • Recovered ambiguous cargo condition across multimodal delay while protecting configuration, insurer evidence and customer acceptance.
  • Governed reusable frames, fixtures or transport tooling through international delivery, return, inspection and repair loops.
  • Transferred export-preservation architecture through full-scale client-led trials involving elapsed clocks and conflicting condition evidence.

Non-negotiables

  • Can lead eight Toulouse packing laboratories and four full-scale trials within eight months.
  • Direct aerospace or comparable engineered-assembly export logistics experience is required; packaging sales experience is insufficient.
  • Will disclose manufacturers, packers, forwarders, carriers, sensor vendors, storage firms, customers and insurers.
  • Will not approve preservation engineering, release quality, give export advice, certify packaging, select vendors or command shipments.
