Catastrophe Claims Platform Recovery Leader — Property Insurance

Urgent / Unplanned

Catastrophe Claims Platform Recovery Leader mandate in Warsaw, Poland · Property and Casualty Insurance

A Polish insurer needs a nine-month executive leader after storm-event claims fragmented across channels, restoring catastrophe-case evidence and handing permanent leadership tested, fair surge controls.

The mandate

The claims-platform director departed after a severe storm produced duplicate digital notices, disconnected adjuster cases and inconsistent event coding across channels. Payments continued through manual triage, but the insurer cannot reliably connect property, peril, damage, inspection, repair, fraud hold and communication at effective time. Another seasonal event could arrive before a permanent executive is appointed.

The interim must start within two weeks for nine months, leading affected-case review, platform repair, surge exercises, live event readiness and successor transfer. Search begins immediately, with five weeks reserved for overlap in months eight and nine. Extension is likely only if an active catastrophe event begins during handover and requires continuity through initial stabilisation.

Handover requires every active catastrophe claim to resolve to policy, insured property, event, exposure, notice, inspection, estimate, reserve, payment, fraud action and customer communication; duplicate cases must be dispositioned; and two surge exercises must pass. The successor will command an unseen multi-peril event and accept remaining repair-network, geospatial and archive limitations.

The interim may stop claims releases, merge or quarantine cases under control, redirect the approved PLN160 million remediation and appoint temporary event leads. Claim liability, customer remedy, reserve policy, permanent hiring and spend above budget require Claims, Finance or committee approval. The platform authority cannot determine coverage or direct individual adjuster judgement outside delegated operations.

Policy administration replacement, pricing redesign and long-term repair-network strategy are outside this assignment. The leader may require interfaces and partner evidence but does not own underwriting, actuarial catastrophe models or historic claims cleansing without active financial, customer or retention consequence. Recovery must create surge resilience while preserving coverage and adjusting authority.

Why this seat is open

The storm exposed case fragmentation precisely when customers and adjusters needed a shared event view, then executive departure removed the cross-functional recovery owner. Operations can process claims manually but cannot redesign platform control alone. A temporary leader must restore evidence before the next season and leave permanent leadership proven surge command.

What you will own

  • Reconstruct affected cases across policy, property, event, notice, channel, inspection, estimate, reserve, payment, fraud and communication.
  • Define claim and catastrophe identity, merge, split, effective state, correction and cross-channel acknowledgement controls.
  • Decide which workflows may automate, require conservative triage, need adjuster review or must remain quarantined.
  • Direct surge exercises covering duplicate notice, multi-peril property, network outage, unavailable adjuster and repair-partner backlog.
  • Establish customer-state consistency and transparent correction without prejudging coverage, liability or fraud disposition.
  • Govern remediation against reviewed duplicates, timely triage, reconciled reserves, reliable communication and event-scale throughput.
  • Transfer authority through unseen catastrophe command, financial review and successor acceptance of partner and archive debt.

Candidate qualifications

  • Held executive catastrophe-claims or claims-platform authority for a scaled property insurer during severe weather events.
  • Reconstructed fragmented claims across digital, contact-centre, adjuster and repair channels while preserving effective history.
  • Designed surge and degraded operation without allowing technology rules to replace coverage or adjuster judgement.
  • Reconciled event coding, reserves, payments and customer communication after duplicate or split cases.
  • Led regulator- or board-visible claims remediation under continuing event and seasonal pressure.
  • Handed a recovered claims function to permanent leadership through live or unannounced catastrophe exercise.

Non-negotiables

  • Available within two weeks for exclusive Warsaw service and continuous command during severe-event activation.
  • Has personally led property catastrophe claims technology and operations; generic insurance platform experience is insufficient.
  • No undisclosed relationship with adjusters, repair networks, claims platforms or catastrophe-data suppliers involved.
  • Will preserve fair customer and coverage evidence even when manual control reduces apparent claims-processing speed.
  1. 49 words maximum. State your Warsaw availability and one catastrophe cohort whose duplicate or fragmented claims you reconciled.
  2. 49 words maximum. How did you merge claimant journeys without erasing separately valid notices or adjuster decisions?
  3. 49 words maximum. Which unseen surge scenario would qualify a permanent claims-platform leader before handover?
