Climate Scenario Translation Director mandate in Dublin, Ireland

Confidential Climate Scenario Translation Director in Dublin, Ireland, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer. Consulting Quantitative Analysis appointment at Director level, a 10-month mandate horizon; four days a week.

The mandate

This project will design a controlled quantitative bridge from climate scenarios to decision variables without claiming that long-horizon pathways are forecasts. The Director must translate physical and transition narratives through exposures, transmission channels, time horizons and uncertainty into reproducible analytical outputs. The commission excludes climate strategy, scientific opinion and formal risk-appetite decisions.

Named artifacts include a scenario-source register, narrative-to-variable map, exposure-location and counterparty mapping protocol, transmission-function library, horizon and interpolation rules, uncertainty framework, result bridge, sensitivity catalogue, control matrix, pilot report and owner guide. Each conversion must preserve original scenario meaning and disclose material assumptions introduced during translation.

Alternative pathways will remain separate through the calculation; blending them into a central case is permitted only when the resulting interpretation and loss of tail information are explicitly approved.

Six dated milestones govern delivery: scope acceptance by 20 November 2026; source and exposure diagnostic by 15 January 2027; translation methodology by 12 March; quantitative prototype by 14 May; pilot and sensitivity review by 16 July; internal reproduction and final acceptance by 10 September. A designated Risk Methodology Committee accepts milestones after climate-data and model-risk reviewers record challenge.

The final test requires internal analysts to reproduce selected pathways, trace every derived variable to source and transformation, identify seeded horizon, geography and double-counting defects, and explain ranges rather than point estimates. Critical lineage or scenario-integrity failures prevent acceptance.

Management provides approved scenarios, exposure information, location and counterparty mappings, current risk methods and timely choices. Consulting owns translation artifacts, testing and transfer. Management owns scenario selection, decisions and reported use. Strategy, external science opinion, data procurement, production infrastructure and recurring exercises remain outside scope.

What you will own

  • Register approved scenario sources, versions, horizons, variables, limitations and update conditions.
  • Map narrative drivers to financial or operational variables through explicit transmission mechanisms.
  • Govern geographic, sectoral and counterparty mapping uncertainty without inventing false granularity.
  • Specify interpolation and extrapolation rules that preserve pathway shape and disclose unsupported assumptions.
  • Prevent duplicate propagation of correlated physical, transition and macroeconomic effects.
  • Produce sensitivities and ranges that show dependence on scenario, exposure mapping and translation choice.
  • Pilot the method, seed lineage and horizon faults, and verify corrections through internal reproduction.
  • Apply change control to strategy, scientific opinion, procurement, infrastructure and repeated production.

Candidate qualifications

  • Demonstrate quantitative translation of climate scenarios into decision variables while preserving deep uncertainty.
  • Describe a transmission pathway whose apparent precision exceeded available exposure or location evidence.
  • Show how you avoided double counting related climate and macroeconomic effects.
  • Evidence horizon conversion or interpolation that did not misrepresent the source scenario.
  • Provide a reproducibility test that traced derived variables through every transformation.
  • Explain how you separated analytical translation from climate strategy and scientific assertion.
  • Show commercial control when data acquisition or platform work threatened the bounded project.

Working terms and boundaries

  • The fixed fee covers ten months, four days weekly and six milestone packages with formal acceptance.
  • The Risk Methodology Committee accepts outputs after internal reproduction and critical-defect closure.
  • Management owns scenarios, strategy, decisions and reported use; consulting owns named translation deliverables.
  • Missing mappings or decisions enter dependency control before any schedule adjustment.
  • Scientific opinions, strategy, data procurement, infrastructure and recurring production are excluded.

Application

Applications for this mandate are received in one way only: through the India Board Terminal's application process. It is automated end to end. Your Executive Passport travels to the mandate holder in its confidential form, your answers to the three questions below are read before anything else in your file, and every stage that follows is recorded on your applications page.

There is no address to write to and no intermediary to call. The mandate holder reads what the Terminal delivers and nothing else, which is what keeps the process the same for every applicant and keeps your name out of it until you release it. Applications close on 12 October 2026. Mandate reference QNT-CON-2026-DUB-16.
