Product-Launch Freight Exception Recovery Leader — Consumer Electronics

Product-Launch Freight Exception Recovery Leader mandate in Bengaluru, India · Consumer Device Launch Logistics

A Bengaluru forwarding command centre needs a sixteen-month leader after fragmented milestone evidence, premium freight and partner escalation threatened confidential global launches of high-value consumer devices.

The mandate

The company centralised launch-freight visibility in Bengaluru, but regional teams and forwarders still define booked, accepted, departed, customs-ready and available differently. Flagship devices move under commercial secrecy and fixed release dates, so one unreliable milestone can trigger duplicate premium uplift, wrong-market diversion or premature channel promise. The first global launch under the new model exposed unresolved exceptions for days while every partner reported its own queue as current.

The interim must mobilise within three weeks for sixteen months, taking global launch-freight authority through three flagship releases, two supplier ramps and full stabilisation of the command centre. The first forty-five days will establish physical shipment truth and escalation ownership across priority lanes. Permanent recruitment begins in month ten; the successor shadows one launch and independently leads the final global release plus a surprise gateway failure before handover.

Transfer requires purchase-order and handling-unit identity, launch confidentiality, forwarder milestones, cargo acceptance, export and import readiness, allocation authority, modal-switch logic, premium-freight approval, gateway recovery, market receipt, cost attribution and post-launch learning. Completion is proven when the successor contains an unseen origin shortfall, air-capacity withdrawal and destination customs hold without launch leakage, duplicated uplift or dishonest market availability.

The leader may hold unsupported bookings, prioritise authorised launch allocations, change forwarder or gateway within framework, approve delegated premium freight, reserve scarce capacity, direct command-centre coverage, require partner evidence and release ₹5.6 billion of recovery spend. Product release date, market allocation policy, export or customs decision, carrier contract award, public communication, security classification and customer promise change remain with designated executives and authorities.

Manufacturing recovery, product quality, demand creation, pricing, customs filing, export-control advice, cybersecurity, permanent platform replacement and consumer fulfilment after market receipt are outside scope. The interim must not expose launch information for faster handling, create a false departure event, ship before lawful readiness, divert another customer’s cargo, approve unbounded premium freight or allow one region to reserve capacity outside published allocation authority.

Why this seat is open

The former global forwarding head left after the first centralised launch revealed that dashboard visibility had not created cross-company exception authority. A temporary leader is required for three launches while the Bengaluru command centre gains operating credibility and a permanent executive learns the physical and commercial consequences behind each milestone.

What you will own

  • Establish launch-shipment truth by purchase order, handling unit, product code, confidentiality class, allocation, booking, physical location, acceptance and customs readiness.
  • Define one exception clock and accountable owner across factory release, forwarder receipt, gateway build, carrier movement, border hold and market delivery.
  • Allocate scarce uplift using approved launch, inventory, market and recovery priorities while preventing duplicate bookings and speculative capacity capture.
  • Govern modal and gateway switches through time-to-availability, lawful readiness, security, cargo condition, downstream capacity and total recovery cost.
  • Command round-the-clock partner escalation with evidence thresholds, decision rights, named alternates and honest channel-availability communication.
  • Exercise six launch events involving origin shortfall, data contradiction, capacity withdrawal, gateway closure, customs hold and confidentiality breach concern.
  • Transfer authority after the successor leads a flagship launch and independently contains a compound origin, carrier and destination disruption.

Candidate qualifications

  • Held executive global-forwarding authority for confidential, high-value and date-certain consumer-electronics or technology product launches.
  • Managed contract manufacturers, forwarders, air and ocean gateways, customs interfaces and market teams through simultaneous scarce-capacity events.
  • Distinguished booked, tendered, accepted, departed, cleared and physically available cargo using independent operational evidence.
  • Controlled premium freight and modal switches against launch consequence without allowing urgency to bypass security or border readiness.
  • Built a twenty-four-hour multinational command centre with clear escalation, allocation, decision and post-event learning disciplines.
  • Handed global launch-freight command to permanent leadership through a live release and deliberately compounded origin-to-market failure.

Non-negotiables

  • Can reside in Bengaluru, travel monthly to origins or gateways and mobilise within three weeks for sixteen months.
  • Direct global electronics launch-forwarding command is required; generic control-tower or procurement experience is insufficient.
  • Will disclose manufacturers, forwarders, carriers, brokers, logistics platforms, retailers, advisers and investment interests.
  • Will not leak launch data, fabricate milestones, give customs advice, select strategic carriers or trade lawful readiness for schedule.
  1. 49 words maximum. Describe a launch where forwarder milestones contradicted physical cargo evidence and changed your decision.
  2. 49 words maximum. How would you ration uplift when origin shortfall and destination hold occur together?
  3. 49 words maximum. State your Bengaluru availability and largest confidential multi-market launch commanded.
