Complex Measurement Close Controls Director mandate in Prague, Czechia

Confidential Complex Measurement Close Controls Director in Prague, Czechia, reporting to the Corporate Controller. Consulting Finance & Accounting appointment at Consulting Director level, a 6-month mandate horizon; four days a week.

The mandate

This commission will design and prove close controls for accounting measurements that depend on models, external specialists and management assumptions. The narrow objective is a consistent evidence and governance chain from population completeness through input approval, calculation review, accounting entry and disclosure. It does not build valuation models or issue specialist opinions.

The Consulting Director will deliver a measurement inventory, risk-tiering method, specialist-instruction standard, input and assumption governance, model-change protocol, accounting movement bridge, control matrix, pilot test report and owner handbook. The approach must work across several measurement types without flattening their distinct accounting requirements.

Controls must also distinguish a changed estimate from a changed model, a corrected input and an accounting-policy decision, because each requires different approval and disclosure treatment.

Four milestones apply: scope and inventory by 13 November 2026; control design by 15 January 2027; pilot execution and defect remediation by 12 March; final independent run and handover by 30 April. The Corporate Controller accepts each milestone after designated accounting and specialist-owner reviewers complete documented challenge.

Final acceptance requires internal owners to process selected measurements using approved artifacts, identify seeded stale-input and model-change exceptions, reconcile results to entries and disclosures, and explain limitations. Any unapproved model change, missing population ownership or unexplained material movement is a critical defect.

Management provides complete measurement populations, approved specialist outputs, model inventories, prior control evidence and timely accounting decisions. The consultant owns design, testing and transfer. Management and specialists retain their conclusions, calculations, entries and representations. Model development, valuation opinion, systems configuration and production operation are out of scope.

What you will own

  • Inventory significant accounting measurements and rank them by uncertainty, specialist dependence, change and reporting consequence.
  • Define minimum instructions and deliverables for specialists so outputs answer the accounting purpose and disclose limitations.
  • Establish control over source inputs, management assumptions, overrides, model versions and period-to-period changes.
  • Build movement bridges that isolate market, assumption, population, model and accounting-treatment effects.
  • Connect measurement review to journal approval and disclosure evidence through clear ownership.
  • Pilot controls on representative measurements, seed exceptions and drive critical findings to verified closure.
  • Transfer operation to named internal owners and evaluate an independent close simulation.
  • Enforce scope control around model build, specialist opinions, technology and recurring production.

Candidate qualifications

  • Demonstrate leadership of accounting control over multiple specialist-dependent measurements.
  • Describe a specialist output that was technically competent but unsuitable for the accounting purpose.
  • Show how you detected an unapproved model or assumption change through period movement analysis.
  • Evidence control design for population completeness, input approval, versioning and journal traceability.
  • Provide a seeded pilot exception that internal owners had to identify and resolve.
  • Explain how you respected specialist responsibility while retaining management accounting ownership.
  • Show fixed-project discipline when model development or production support was requested.

Working terms and boundaries

  • The fee covers six months, four days weekly and four milestone packages with formal acceptance reviews.
  • Management and specialists own calculations, judgments, entries and representations; consulting owns defined control artifacts.
  • Final acceptance requires a successful independent simulation and closure of all critical defects.
  • Input delay and scope expansion are handled through written dependency and change decisions.
  • Valuation modelling, specialist opinions, platform configuration and recurring production are excluded.
