An aerospace systems manufacturer seeks a CEO adviser to challenge localisation, supplier resilience and certification sequencing as a major export programme moves toward industrialisation at scale.
The mandate
The oversight committee cannot settle how quickly to localise critical parts without moving qualification risk onto an already compressed programme. Supplier development is being measured by nomination rather than stable process evidence and recoverable alternatives.
Three days monthly include a supplier-readiness review, CEO counsel and committee attendance. A critical source or qualification issue receives acknowledgement within twelve hours and a decision note within seventy-two.
The twelve-month mandate runs through first-article approval and production-readiness review and is fixed with no renewal. The adviser has no line authority, airworthiness responsibility, supplier signature or executive accountability.
Two other roles may coexist if they exclude competing aerospace programmes. Customer, tier supplier, certification, investor and technology-provider interests require disclosure, with programme information held behind strict conflict walls.

Procurement is measured on localisation, quality on compliance and programmes on schedule. The board lacks someone who has balanced all three through an export aerospace ramp. It wants experienced challenge without inserting a parallel chain of command.
What you will own
- Test localisation candidates for technical maturity, volume economics and qualification critical path.
- Challenge supplier-readiness ratings that lack demonstrated special-process control.
- Press leaders to define recovery paths for single-source and long-lead constraints.
- Shape committee gates for source approval, first article and production release.
- Examine configuration, traceability and change-control risks across tiered suppliers.
- Guide escalation when customer schedule pressure conflicts with evidence maturity.
- Advise the CEO on where dual sourcing, inventory or design change best buys resilience.
Candidate qualifications
- 28+ years in aerospace supply chain, programmes, operations or quality leadership.
- Direct accountability for industrialising a certified aerospace system for export customers.
- Experience qualifying Indian suppliers across special processes and traceable components.
- Evidence of recovering a constrained programme without bypassing certification evidence.
- Board and customer credibility on source, schedule and configuration trade-offs.
- No conflicted interest in nominated suppliers or competing programmes.
Non-negotiables
- Three onsite Hyderabad days monthly through production-readiness review.
- Twelve-hour acknowledgement of documented critical-source issues.
- Full disclosure of aerospace customer, supplier and certification interests.
- No airworthiness approval, supplier commitment or executive direction.
