A Copenhagen infrastructure-sensing group appoints a ten-month board challenger to test quantum-gravimetry evidence, deployment limits and capital claims without holding scientific, procurement, survey or executive authority.
The mandate
The board repeatedly asks whether field quantum gravimetry is ready to change subsurface survey decisions or should remain a specialist complement to conventional methods. Laboratory sensitivity is improving, while vibration, transport, reference stability, inversion assumptions and uncertain ground truth complicate deployment evidence. Customer pilots risk being counted as validation even when expert interpretation and favourable sites carry the result.
The challenger will commit three days monthly to committee preparation, pilot evidence review and conversations with scientific and field leaders, plus four Copenhagen sessions. A written challenge to a material performance or customer claim is due within two Danish business days. Field survey, technical diligence, procurement or investment execution requires a separate mandate.
The term runs ten months from March 2027. During month eight, management will defend an unseen site-selection and null-result scenario using the board’s revised evidence frame. One three-month renewal may be approved by full-board vote for a named instrument-generation or capital gate; unused days expire and cannot become ongoing product-management support.
The challenger has no line authority, executive authority, scientific-signing role, survey approval, procurement right, investment vote or customer-acceptance mandate. Scientists own interpretation, qualified professionals own survey conclusions and directors allocate capital. Advice cannot be marketed as instrument validation, subsurface finding, measurement certification or evidence that a customer should excavate or refrain.
Interests involving quantum-sensor ventures, geophysical firms, infrastructure owners, instrument vendors, universities or investors must be disclosed as conflicts. One unrelated advanced-sensing role may continue with chair approval. Equity in an evaluated supplier or contingent compensation tied to instrument purchase, financing or pilot conversion is incompatible with independent challenge.
Why the board wants this voice
Quantum scientists understand instrument performance and geophysicists understand site ambiguity, but the board lacks someone who has converted novel sensing into repeatable field decisions and honest unit economics. That voice must expose selection bias, interpretation load and null results without becoming a scientist of record, surveyor or equipment promoter.

- Examine supplier and academic dependence across components, algorithms, patents, field support, data rights and orderly technology transfer.
- Coach directors to distinguish physical measurement, processed anomaly, geophysical interpretation and infrastructure action.
Candidate qualifications
- Held senior quantum-sensing, gravimetry, geophysics or advanced-instrument deployment authority spanning laboratory and difficult field environments.
- Separated intrinsic sensor sensitivity from site noise, setup, reference stability, inversion assumptions and operator contribution.
- Governed pilots where ground truth was partial, expensive or discovered only after consequential infrastructure work.
- Challenged capital and customer claims using null results, repeat measurements and comparable conventional survey performance.
- Presented novel-sensing readiness to boards, scientific authorities and infrastructure owners without implying unsupported subsurface certainty.
- Managed conflicts across instrument ventures, universities, survey firms, customers and investors while protecting unpublished field evidence.
