EVP – Risk and Resilience mandate in Singapore, Singapore · Media & Entertainment
Protect advertising yield by confronting invalid traffic, consent gaps, unsafe placement and measurement disputes across an Asia-Pacific audience platform.
The mandate
This advertising and audience platform monetises premium media across direct, programmatic and partner channels in Asia-Pacific. Revenue demand is healthy, but an increasing share of apparent inventory carries hidden risk: invalid traffic, duplicated audiences, uncertain consent, unsuitable placements, opaque intermediaries and measurement disputes. Yield cannot recover sustainably if advertisers lose confidence in what they bought or if the platform creates legal and reputational exposure to fill a campaign.
The group is creating an EVP – Risk and Resilience role to establish independent oversight across the advertising lifecycle. The executive will own platform risk, operational resilience, advertising integrity, third-party risk, control design, incident governance and board assurance. Sales, product, data and ad operations remain accountable for their activities. The EVP must make exposure visible, define material acceptance and ensure that revenue pressure never determines whether a control concern is investigated.
This planned appointment is intended to improve the commercial model, not surround it with generic approvals. Trustworthy inventory, transparent measurement and reliable campaign delivery should command stronger relationships and lower failure cost. The risk function must identify where controls enable that value and where a product, partner or data use should stop.
Scope and operating context
Based onsite in Singapore, the role influences approximately 750 employees and material partners across Singapore and a wider international region. The perimeter includes advertising integrity, audience-data risk, operational resilience, supplier assurance, incident coordination and risk governance. Interfaces reach into direct sales, programmatic, product, data science, engineering, ad operations, measurement, privacy, legal, finance, editorial standards and cyber security.
The supply chain can include publishers, exchanges, demand platforms, verification vendors, data providers, agencies and resellers. Contractual responsibility and technical visibility do not always align. A campaign may pass formal checks while underlying inventory or audience claims remain difficult to substantiate. The EVP needs a tiered evidence model rather than identical questionnaires for every participant.
Market expectations vary across the region. Privacy, political advertising, alcohol, gambling, health, children and sensitive categories are treated differently by jurisdiction and publisher. The platform needs locally lawful rules and globally intelligible accountability. Commercial teams must know when a campaign can be adapted and when it cannot run.
First-year agenda
The first twelve weeks will map money, data and inventory through priority advertising routes. The EVP will trace representative campaigns from proposal and audience definition through auction or reservation, delivery, measurement, invoice and complaint. They will quantify invalid traffic, discrepancies, makegoods, blocked impressions, data transfers, partner dependencies and manual overrides.
An inventory-integrity framework will then define evidence by source and use. Publisher identity, placement, content context, device, geography, traffic quality, consent signal and authorised reseller path will be considered. Higher-risk combinations will require stronger verification or exclusion. The platform will avoid presenting precision that the underlying supply chain cannot support.
Audience products will receive purpose-based governance. Each segment must have an authorised source, understandable definition, permitted use, retention, geographic scope and accountable owner. Sensitive inference and minor-related exposure will be tightly restricted. Match rates and modelled expansion will be represented honestly to advertisers, and automated targeting will remain subject to monitoring and human accountability.
Measurement disputes will be treated as risk signals, not merely commercial negotiations. The EVP will compare platform, publisher, advertiser and verification evidence, identify definitional or technical causes and ensure makegoods do not conceal recurrence. Approved currencies and reconciliation rules will be explicit in contracts and operations.
Brand safety and suitability will be separated. Non-negotiable illegal or harmful content requires blocking and escalation; legitimate advertisers may choose different contextual tolerances. The system must execute those choices reliably without allowing broad keyword avoidance to undermine diverse or newsworthy content. Editorial teams will retain independent authority over content.
Programmatic partners will be tiered by transparency, control, incident history, financial exposure and strategic role. Contracts will address supply paths, data, audit, subcontracting, resilience and termination. Partners that cannot explain material inventory or traffic sources will be limited or removed, even if they contribute short-term fill.
Resilience scenarios will test the advertising platform under peak events and compound failure. Exercises may combine decisioning outage, corrupted consent signal, measurement vendor failure, malicious traffic and public complaint. Teams will test safe degradation, campaign pausing, evidence preservation, customer communication and financial reconciliation.
The EVP will establish an incident taxonomy and response model for advertising and audience harm. High-severity cases require rapid coordination across commercial, technical, privacy, editorial and communications teams. Corrective action must reach product rules, partner status, model monitoring or employee authority. Repeated exceptions will be escalated rather than normalised.
By year-end, the platform should show lower invalid and disputed delivery, clearer audience provenance, stronger partner transparency and tested recovery for critical advertising services. Yield improvement must be explainable through better inventory and confidence, not through reduced scrutiny.
Leadership responsibilities
The EVP will chair advertising-risk and resilience governance and provide the group sponsor with an independent view of exposure and control confidence. They will present choices in commercial language, including revenue at risk, customer consequence and feasible mitigation. The role retains escalation access when line executives prefer to proceed.
They will build a function with fluency in ad technology, data, media standards and operational resilience. Team members will work alongside product and operations while retaining independence. Assurance will test evidence and outcomes rather than reproduce line reporting.
The executive will also engage major advertisers, agencies, publishers and verification partners where trust or remediation requires senior dialogue. They must acknowledge a control failure clearly, avoid premature conclusions and make commitments the platform can actually deliver.
Measures of success
The executive committee will review invalid traffic, disputed delivery, makegoods, blocked or unsuitable impressions, audience-data exceptions, partner concentration and material incidents. It will examine yield and fill alongside inventory quality, ensuring that improvement is not caused by weaker classification.
Resilience measures include service availability, safe degradation, recovery, exercise findings, unresolved actions and vendor evidence. Customer measures include audit requests, campaign disputes, renewals and trust indicators. Risk-function effectiveness will cover decision timeliness, independent testing, recurring exceptions and leadership depth.
Candidate profile
Candidates should bring 22–28 years in advertising technology, digital media, data risk, cyber, platform integrity or regulated digital services. They must have held independent authority and addressed fraud, consent, measurement or brand-safety issues at commercial scale. Experience across Asian markets is valuable.
The board will seek examples of removing a revenue-generating partner for integrity reasons, resolving a material measurement dispute and designing safe degradation during an advertising-platform incident. Candidates should understand programmatic supply chains, audience data, privacy, verification, operational resilience and commercial contracts.
The successful EVP will be sceptical without being vague. They must challenge technical and sales narratives with evidence, distinguish a manageable uncertainty from an unacceptable opacity and communicate credibly with customers after failure.
Compensation and appointment terms
Annual base compensation is expected between SGD 420,000 and SGD 570,000, supplemented by annual incentive and long-term participation. Reward will balance trusted yield, control outcomes, platform resilience, partner quality and leadership development. Final terms will reflect comparable risk authority and verified forfeited awards.
Confidentiality
The platform remains unnamed because advertiser relationships, audience methods, partner weaknesses and incidents are sensitive. Detailed evidence will follow identity, conflict and confidentiality review. Applicants must not submit campaign records, audience segments, fraud indicators or proprietary partner assessments from another organisation.
