Planning Calendar and Governance Redesign Director mandate in Bangkok, Thailand
Confidential Planning Calendar and Governance Redesign Director in Bangkok, Thailand, reporting to the Finance Operating Model Sponsor. Consulting FP&A appointment at Director level, a 3-month mandate horizon; five days a week.
The mandate
This focused three-month project will redesign the planning calendar and governance sequence so decisions occur in dependency order and work is not repeatedly reopened. The scope is process architecture and one simulated cycle; it does not include model rebuild, systems configuration or permanent operation of the calendar.
Four artifacts are required: current-state dependency map, future decision calendar, governance-and-escalation specification, and simulation-and-transfer report. The consultant must identify circularity, redundant submissions, late decision rights and data cut-offs that create avoidable rework while retaining controls that protect financial integrity.
Milestones occur at weeks three, six, nine and twelve. The Sponsor accepts the map and calendar; named governance owners accept the specification; the CFO delegate accepts simulation and transfer. Acceptance requires complete decision ownership, dependency resolution, measured effort reduction and successful response to two simulated disruptions.
The client will supply current calendars, forum terms, submission requirements, named process owners, sample planning artifacts and participants for the simulation. The consultant cannot assume that a delayed executive decision is a process defect; unresolved authority questions will be escalated as dependencies for sponsor resolution.
What you will own
- Map every material planning event to its upstream evidence, downstream consumer, decision owner, cut-off and rework consequence.
- Identify circular hand-offs, duplicate submissions and approval forums that revisit rather than resolve the same question.
- Design a calendar that sequences strategic choices, assumptions, operating inputs, financial consolidation, challenge and release coherently.
- Establish decision deadlines, quorum, escalation and fallback rules for unavailable evidence or owners.
- Quantify removed effort and shifted timing while preserving reconciliation, challenge and statutory dependencies.
- Simulate a normal cycle plus two disruptions involving late evidence and a changed executive choice.
- Record simulation defects by severity, assign design fixes and retest all critical paths before acceptance.
- Transfer calendar administration through an internal owner-led walkthrough and published first-cycle readiness checklist.
Candidate qualifications
- At least 14 years in FP&A operating models, planning governance or finance process design at Director level.
- Evidence of redesigning a planning calendar and materially reducing rework or decision delay without weakening controls.
- Strong understanding of decision dependencies, cut-offs, consolidation, escalation, governance rights and cycle simulation.
- A case where apparent process delay was actually caused by unresolved executive authority and how you escalated it.
- Experience quantifying removed planning effort and protecting mandatory evidence and reconciliation steps.
- Skill facilitating senior owners through time-compressed design choices in Thai and international working contexts.
- Demonstrated transfer through simulations and first-cycle readiness, not documentation alone.
Working terms and boundaries
- The project runs three months at five days a week and has four milestones with named acceptance owners.
- Scope includes calendar, governance, simulation and transfer; models, systems and live-cycle operation are excluded.
- The consultant can design decision routes but cannot reassign executive authority or approve planning outputs.
- Existing calendars, forum terms, artifacts, owner participation and simulation availability are required client inputs.
- Completion requires critical-path retesting, evidenced effort reduction and an owner-led readiness walkthrough.
Application
Applications for this mandate are received in one way only: through the India Board Terminal's application process. It is automated end to end. Your Executive Passport travels to the mandate holder in its confidential form, your answers to the three questions below are read before anything else in your file, and every stage that follows is recorded on your applications page.
