Regional Finance Service Management Director mandate in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Confidential Regional Finance Service Management Director in Sao Paulo, Brazil, reporting to the Global Business Services Finance Director. Permanent Finance & Accounting appointment at Director level, an ongoing appointment; full time.
The mandate
The Regional Finance Service Management Director will own the permanent relationship between regional finance users, global process owners and finance service delivery. The role is not an escalation mailbox. It must convert patterns in demand, service failure and local exception into accountable enterprise decisions while preventing urgent individual requests from displacing controlled regional priorities.
During the first 100 days, the director will establish the true regional service perimeter, identify work performed outside agreed channels and reconstruct the most material recurring failures. By month six, a single regional service review, demand taxonomy and issue-ownership route should replace fragmented forums. By month twelve, service commitments, retained responsibilities and improvement decisions should be stable across reporting peaks.
The director can set regional service-management standards, prioritise cross-process issues, require root-cause evidence and escalate non-performance to the appropriate process or service leader. The role cannot alter accounting policy, waive controls, commit process-owner resources or promise local customisation without approval. Credibility depends on making these boundaries clear even when pressure is high.
Performance must be assessed through user and finance outcomes, not ticket closure. A resolved incident that recurs, shifts work to local teams or creates a close adjustment is not a successful service result. The director will join operational data with retained effort, financial consequence and stakeholder experience to create decision-ready service evidence.
Longer term, this leader will develop regional service managers who can exercise judgement across processes and cultures. Success will mean fewer unmanaged workarounds, earlier visibility of cross-market patterns, disciplined demand and a constructive relationship in which local finance receives transparency without acquiring a bespoke service model for every exception.
What you will own
- Validate the regional finance-service perimeter, channels, owners and local retained obligations, including material work occurring outside formal routes.
- Establish a demand taxonomy distinguishing incident, request, recurring failure, policy question, improvement and unauthorised customisation.
- Create a regional service review that connects service measures to close, cash, control and retained-effort consequences.
- Exercise authority to prioritise regional cross-process issues and require root-cause or recovery evidence from accountable service leaders.
- Reject unsupported promises of custom work and route genuine design needs to the formal process decision owner.
- Track recurrence and work transfer so superficial ticket closure cannot be reported as durable resolution.
- Build a regional service-management team with common judgement standards, coverage and succession.
- Deliver a first-year service health and demand account showing resolved structural issues, residual exposure and next choices.
Candidate qualifications
- Show permanent regional leadership across several finance services and multiple markets with different operating needs.
- Provide an example where ticket metrics concealed recurring failure or work transferred to retained finance.
- Demonstrate how you distinguished a legitimate market requirement from preference-driven customisation.
- Evidence authority across process owners, service leaders and senior regional finance without owning all underlying resources.
- Bring working knowledge of close, payables, receivables and cross-process service dependencies.
- Describe a demand-management method that reduced noise without suppressing valid risk or local obligations.
- Show how you built service-management judgement and succession beyond your own personal relationships.
Working terms and boundaries
- This is a full-time permanent role with authority over regional service-management standards, issue priority and team leadership.
- Accounting policy, control waivers, process design and resource commitments remain with designated owners.
- Regional customisation cannot be promised outside formal approval and economic evaluation.
- First-year performance covers structural issue reduction, demand discipline, retained effort, stakeholder outcomes and talent depth.
- Long-term incentives remain governed by approved plan and vesting rules.
