Distributed Product-Leadership Constitution Board Adviser mandate in Paris, France · Luxury Digital Commerce

A luxury digital group needs a nine-month board adviser to challenge duplicated product leadership across Paris, India and North America before informal founder access becomes the real decision system.

The mandate

Regional chief product officers, Paris brand leaders and India platform executives carry overlapping titles while consequential choices still follow personal access to two founders. Roadmaps reconcile too late, market exceptions bypass platform owners and India leaders receive global delivery targets without equivalent customer or investment voice. Directors want a leadership constitution that survives personalities without flattening legitimate brand and market judgment.

The adviser will examine one consequential product decision during each of nine monthly three-day cycles, moving from evidence reconstruction to leadership challenge and chair briefing. Four digital-and-brand committee sessions and four market or India reviews complete the programme. Founder consultations are scheduled as evidence sessions, not informal side channels through which the adviser becomes another route around governance.

The advisory term ends after the month-nine board decision on roles, forums and transition risks. A renewal could be proposed only to test the constitution after named appointments, under a new scope and conflict review; implementation observation is not assumed. Unused capacity in one cycle cannot be banked for later appointment negotiations.

This seat has no line authority and no executive responsibility for product, brand, markets, technology, appointments or investment. Management proposes leaders and operates roadmaps; directors approve senior roles and governance. The adviser may expose a hollow remit or recommend removing duplication, but cannot select candidates, direct teams or represent a founder in disputes.

Relationships with luxury houses, marketplaces, agencies, executive-search firms, investors, candidates or platform vendors under review create conflicts that must be declared before evidence access. Prior coaching of a named executive is also disclosed. The chair controls recusal, and the adviser accepts no placement, transaction or outcome-based fee.

Why the board wants this voice

Those designing the new constitution are also negotiating their own titles, budget reach and founder access. Brand protection and local market judgment are real constraints, but they can be used to preserve informal vetoes. An independent product executive can make authority explicit and test it against actual customer and commercial choices.

What you will own

  • Reconstruct roadmap, brand, market, platform, customer, release and investment decisions that currently follow informal influence.
  • Test each proposed leadership remit against budgets, evidence access, customer relationships and decisions actually exercised.
  • Challenge duplicated global, regional and GCC titles that divide outcomes or preserve founder-dependent escalation.
  • Shape thresholds for brand integrity, local-market variance, shared-platform investment and urgent customer recovery.
  • Examine forums for decision quality, preparation, dissent, latency and closure rather than calendar convenience.
  • Probe successor depth and development assignments required to reduce dependency on individual founders or market executives.
  • Frame the board’s constitution, leadership gaps, transition sequence and decisions that should remain deliberately local.

Candidate qualifications

  • Designed distributed product leadership for a global consumer, luxury or marketplace business with powerful regional voices.
  • Replaced founder-mediated decisions with explicit authority without destroying speed, brand judgment or entrepreneurial accountability.
  • Resolved overlapping chief, regional and GCC product roles through outcomes and exercised decisions rather than hierarchy alone.
  • Balanced shared-platform integrity with local customer, regulatory, merchandising and brand variation across markets.
  • Assessed senior product leaders using observed roadmap, investment and customer-recovery evidence under contested conditions.
  • Advised boards independently of founders, candidates, search firms, agencies, investors and platform suppliers.

Non-negotiables

  • Can complete four committee sessions and four market, India or leadership reviews during nine months.
  • Will disclose luxury, marketplace, founder, investor, candidate, search, agency and platform relationships.
  • Brings distributed global product-governance evidence; organisation-design facilitation without product accountability is insufficient.
  • Accepts management ownership of products and people and no role in candidate selection or brand decisions.
