Airport Systems GCC Resilience Scale Leader
Urgent / Replacement
Airport Systems GCC Resilience Scale Leader mandate in Dubai, United Arab Emirates · International Airport Operations
A major airport operator needs a fourteen-month executive to establish cross-system recovery authority and operational context for its India GCC, which currently monitors applications.
The mandate
The India GCC monitors baggage reconciliation, gate systems, and flight-information platforms, but support teams treat each application separately. India engineers detect integration faults yet lack authority to invoke airport-wide degraded operation or vendor recovery protocols.
The interim must establish onsite Dubai command within fourteen days and lead for fourteen months. Recruitment of a permanent operational-systems leader begins after two airport-wide exercises and one peak operating period meet recovery thresholds, expected by month eight. The successor will command a live major incident and night-time terminal exercise during a six-week overlap.
Handover requires six operational services to have complete dependency maps, defined degraded modes, tested recovery rights, airline and handler interfaces, vendor obligations and two-deep India leadership. Three compound-failure exercises must reconcile technical and airport decisions on one timeline. The successor receives service risks, recovery evidence, operational exceptions, supplier actions and capital dependencies.
The interim may declare a digital major incident, activate cross-system command, direct vendor recovery, freeze nonessential changes and commit up to AED 180 million from the approved resilience portfolio. Terminal closure, passenger security, flight allocation, safety decisions and airline communications remain with authorised airport executives. India service leaders receive technical recovery authority and direct operations-control access under stated thresholds.
Physical baggage equipment replacement, terminal construction, air-traffic services, general cybersecurity transformation and systems outside the six operational services are excluded. The seat covers digital service resilience, compound recovery, India operational capability, supplier accountability and succession. It cannot take ownership of airport operations merely because technology failure affects them.
Why this seat is open
The disruption exposed application-by-application support where the airport needed one operational service view, followed by executive departure. Vendors and local system owners disagree over the shared fault and each controls part of the recovery evidence. A temporary airport-technology leader can exercise integrated command and transfer durable authority into the GCC.
What you will own
- Reconstruct the disruption across baggage messages, gate allocation, flight information, integration state, vendor action and operational consequence.
- Define six operational service envelopes with dependencies, degraded modes, recovery objectives and accountable technical owners.
- Allocate incident, change, failover, vendor-escalation and restoration rights between Dubai operations and India GCC leaders.
- Establish one evidence timeline combining alarms, messages, decisions, passenger impact, airline action and recovery confidence.
- Build India service and incident commanders with airport residencies, exercised deputies and direct operational relationships.
- Run compound scenarios involving message backlog, partial baggage recovery, gate changes, cyber containment and vendor delay.
- Transfer service dossiers, exercise evidence, vendor commitments, capital issues and talent actions through successor-led command reviews.
Candidate qualifications
- Held executive technology-resilience authority for a hub airport, airline operations centre or comparable transport environment.
- Recovered compound failures spanning baggage, gate, flight-information and integration services under live passenger pressure.
- Built India operational technology leaders with direct incident authority and credible relationships to airport controllers.
- Defined degraded operations jointly with business and safety owners without appropriating their accountable decisions.
- Enforced vendor recovery and evidence obligations across proprietary operational systems with shared dependencies.
- Handed an airport service portfolio to permanent leadership after observed peak, incident and resilience exercises.
