The problem this seat exists to solve
A commodity trading operation needs to reduce errors and cash delays between contract agreement and settlement. The adviser will work across trade execution, logistics and finance to isolate recurring failures, test practical improvements and give operating teams a process they can sustain.
Trace the process end to end
You will map the contract-to-settlement process and identify errors, handoff failures and documentation bottlenecks. You will assess ownership across trading, operations, logistics, finance and external service providers.
First month: deliver a process baseline and prioritised list of operational failure points.
Prioritise changes that improve execution
- Prioritise practical improvements to exception handling, documentation quality and settlement readiness.
- Design a small performance dashboard linking operational issues to claims, delays and cash effects.
- Pilot revised processes and transfer ownership to the teams responsible for daily execution.
Pilot results and handover
By month three: pilot improvements in an agreed trade flow or operating team. At completion: demonstrate progress in documentation accuracy, exception closure or settlement timeliness and hand over revised procedures.
Operational experience
The role requires demonstrated commodity trade operations or execution experience and evidence of improving cross-functional processes.
Additional useful experience includes agricultural trade documentation, international logistics interfaces and claims or settlement process expertise.
Advisory arrangement
The adviser works with the CEO or an appointed executive sponsor. Recommendations, analysis and coaching form the deliverables; management retains approval and implementation responsibility.
The initial advisory period is expected to run for three to six months, typically two to six days a month, with workshops scheduled around the agreed outputs. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — an advisory engagement
No office of director, and no appointment formalities.
An advisory engagement creates no directorship in Singapore. There is no registry filing, no regulator pre-approval, no residency arithmetic and no statutory director liability — which is why it is so often the right first step into a market you do not yet know.
- On this brief
- International candidatures are accepted.
- Independence
- Where the engagement specifies independence from any search that follows, that is a requirement of the engagement rather than a courtesy — an adviser to a board is not a candidate for it.

Singapore·Agribusiness & Food
Agricultural commodities organisation in Singapore
This director will challenge credit risk in agricultural commodity trading, where counterparty quality, price movements, logistics and the control of goods interact. The seat requires judgement about the transaction as a whole, not reliance on a counterparty rating in isolation.
Independent Director — Board Risk Committee Member
Singapore·Banking & Financial Services
Commodity finance organisation in Singapore
The seat calls for senior credit or commodity-finance risk experience, financial literacy and the ability to evaluate risk frameworks at board level. Candidates should have worked through a stressed portfolio or significant loss event and be able to distinguish deficiencies in risk selection from failures of monitoring or control.
Non-Executive Director — Risk Oversight, Warehousing and Collateral
Singapore·Banking & Financial Services
Storage and collateral services organisation in Singapore
This board role focuses on the credibility of services that provide confidence over stored goods and collateral. The director must understand how custody, records, staff conduct and release procedures can either support or undermine that confidence.
