Deep technology and semiconductors organisation in Sweden
The problem this seat exists to solve
The adviser will assess whether a security technology business has a sustainable model for maintenance, updates, vulnerability response and customer support. The assignment connects product design with continuing obligations and cost. It is intended to help leadership avoid a gap between what sales promises and what the organisation can reliably maintain.
What happens after the product is sold?
Map the lifecycle
Review the product's deployment forms, dependencies and supported versions. Identify how changes reach customers, what testing is needed and where updates depend on customer action. Examine the implications of embedded or long-lived deployments, including circumstances in which an update cannot be applied quickly.
Work with technical and commercial leaders to define support boundaries and escalation. Distinguish ordinary support requests from issues requiring specialist investigation or a coordinated response. The adviser should test whether the proposed model relies on a few original developers whose availability cannot be assumed indefinitely.
Make the economics visible
Estimate the resources required to support existing and planned customers under different adoption scenarios. Review pricing and contract assumptions alongside those obligations. Recommendations may involve product changes, clearer terms, investment in tooling or a narrower support commitment; each option should explain its customer and risk implications.
Expertise required
Candidates need senior cybersecurity product, engineering operations or support-model experience. They should understand software or hardware lifecycle constraints and have worked with customers relying on security functionality. Evidence of building a sustainable support operation is more relevant than experience handling isolated escalations alone.
Final output
Deliver a lifecycle responsibility map, support-model options and a prioritised implementation plan. Include the evidence needed before management makes stronger availability or response commitments. This advisory mandate has no operational command authority and does not authorise changes to customer terms, product support or public claims.
Management retains the decisions and must obtain appropriate specialist advice where needed. The engagement should leave a clear account of what the organisation can support now, what further capability is required and how the cost of continuing obligations should enter product and commercial planning. Any conflicts involving support suppliers or competing offerings must be disclosed.

Before you apply — an advisory engagement
No office of director, and no appointment formalities.
An advisory engagement creates no directorship in Sweden. There is no registry filing, no regulator pre-approval, no residency arithmetic and no statutory director liability — which is why it is so often the right first step into a market you do not yet know.
- On this brief
- Independence
- Where the engagement specifies independence from any search that follows, that is a requirement of the engagement rather than a courtesy — an adviser to a board is not a candidate for it.
