The problem this seat exists to solve
A business has many improvement initiatives but little visible movement in financial or operating performance. The transformation officer will turn the programme into a manageable set of priorities with named owners, realistic resources and benefits verified by finance.
Turn improvement activity into operating results
The role carries executive delivery responsibility within an agreed budget and delegation. It reports to the CEO, or to the board where the appointment is for CEO. Major decisions follow the organisation’s reserved matters.
Diagnose and prioritise
You will diagnose the sources of underperformance across commercial activity, operations and overhead. You will prioritise initiatives based on value, execution difficulty, dependencies and management capacity.
First 30 days: deliver a baseline and agree a focused portfolio of transformation priorities.
Run the transformation
- Establish a transformation office with clear governance and an escalation route for blocked decisions.
- Work with functional leaders to translate initiatives into weekly actions and measurable operating changes.
- Track realised benefits with finance and prevent double counting or premature recognition of savings.
Ninety day checkpoint
By day 90: establish delivery routines and demonstrate initial completed actions with verified benefits.
Six month handover
By month six: show sustained progress against agreed financial and operating measures and transfer routines into line management.
Leadership profile and availability
The role requires senior enterprise leadership and evidence of delivering cross-functional transformation with measurable results; ability to influence executives while owning programme delivery.
Additional useful experience includes private company turnaround experience and familiarity with Nordic operating environments.
An initial six to nine months is envisaged, normally four to five days a week, including diagnosis and an orderly handover. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in Sweden usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Sweden
- A non-executive director attending board meetings requires no work permit. Executive roles for non-EU/EEA nationals require a work permit through Migrationsverket.

- International candidatures are accepted.

Sweden·Public-Interest & Regulated Services
Regulated services or public interest enterprises
An established service enterprise is increasing digital investment faster than its board can assess delivery and resilience risk. This director will help the board distinguish valuable transformation from poorly controlled technology spending and challenge whether management can sustain essential services during disruption.
Programme Director for Secure Software Delivery Modernisation
Sweden·Technology & Digital Platforms
Defence-adjacent, public sector or regulated technology programmes
A technology organisation needs to modernise software delivery while retaining clear control of changes, access and assurance evidence. The programme director will integrate engineering improvement with security and operational acceptance so control requirements become workable delivery practices.
Independent Non-Executive Director — Restructuring
Sweden·Consumer & Retail
Consumer manufacturing organisation in Sweden
A restructuring agreement changes obligations; it does not establish that the business has recovered. This seat brings independent scrutiny to the period when management must rebuild operating resilience, reset investment priorities and demonstrate that improved results are repeatable.
