The problem this seat exists to solve
A new terminal programme has multiple technology vendors and construction packages but no sufficiently integrated path to operational readiness. The programme director will bring the technology, facilities and operating teams into one delivery and acceptance plan.
Integration ownership
You will establish an integrated delivery schedule covering systems, connectivity, facilities access, testing and operational dependencies. You will define interface ownership across airport teams, construction partners and technology vendors.
The executive sponsor sets the mandate and approves material changes to scope or funding. The programme director leads the agreed workstreams and delivery forum; the designated business owner accepts the completed work.
Readiness workstreams
1. Create readiness gates for integration testing, user acceptance, training, support and fallback operations.
2. Manage programme risks, budget changes and supplier escalations through a sponsor-led decision process.
3. Coordinate rehearsals and transition support so the operating organisation can accept and sustain the completed systems.
Sponsor acceptance will depend on
- First 30 days: issue a dependency map and identify the critical integration and readiness risks.
- By month three: baseline the integrated plan and obtain agreement on acceptance and cutover criteria.
- At handover: complete agreed readiness evidence, operational training and outstanding-defect ownership before sponsor acceptance.
Delivery background
The role requires senior technology programme delivery in airports or complex infrastructure; experience leading vendors and operational stakeholders through integration and handover.
Additional useful experience includes terminal opening experience, construction programme interfaces and large-scale operational readiness exercises.
Duration and commitment
The expected engagement is six to twelve months, normally four to five days a week, linked to delivery and acceptance milestones. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in Qatar usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in Qatar
- A non-resident director attending board meetings travels on a business visit visa. Resident and executive roles require sponsorship and a residence permit.
