Secure software delivery organisation in Netherlands

The problem this seat exists to solve

The lead will establish and operate the test-environment capability needed for controlled technology delivery. The assignment addresses unreliable environments, unclear data arrangements and fragmented evidence that can make assurance slow without making it stronger. It is a delivery role with responsibility for creating an environment service that engineering teams can use predictably.

Test-environment leadership experience

Candidates should have technical delivery, environment management or quality engineering leadership experience in a complex software setting. They need practical knowledge of infrastructure, configuration and test data, and the ability to negotiate priorities among competing teams. Evidence of turning an unreliable shared capability into a dependable service is particularly relevant.

Configuration, data and capacity

Map current environments, their owners, configurations and dependencies. Identify where differences from production undermine test confidence and where shared use creates scheduling conflicts or unexplained failures. Review how test data is sourced, protected and refreshed, involving authorised specialists where sensitive information is concerned.

Lead a prioritised plan for environment stabilisation and provisioning. Establish configuration baselines, booking or capacity arrangements where needed, and a process for restoring environments after change. Ensure teams can identify the version and conditions under which a test result was obtained.

What the evidence can reasonably prove

Coordinate with release and assurance owners to define the evidence each environment can support. Not every environment needs full production equivalence, but its limitations must be known. The lead should prevent test results being used to imply confidence in conditions that were never exercised.

The lead will own the agreed environment improvement backlog and operating process. Access, data use and material infrastructure expenditure remain subject to established authority. The engagement should leave named service owners, documented environment capabilities and a sustainable support model. Handover must include known differences from production, capacity constraints and outstanding remediation. Success means fewer avoidable test interruptions, better traceability of evidence and clearer decisions about what has and has not been demonstrated before release, without claiming that any test environment can remove all production uncertainty.

Before you apply — this is an executive role

An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in the Netherlands usually does not.

This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.

Position in the Netherlands
A non-executive or supervisory director attending meetings does not require a residence permit. Executive roles for non-EU nationals require a permit, commonly under the highly skilled migrant scheme.
