Secure software delivery organisation in Netherlands
The problem this seat exists to solve
The lead will own the integration of development, build and deployment platforms across engineering teams. The mandate is to create a coherent delivery environment while preserving the ability to support live services and meet committed releases. It involves technical decisions, transition management and clear accountability for the risks introduced by migration.
Platform integration experience
Candidates require hands-on leadership experience with DevOps platforms and integration in a controlled environment. They should understand software supply chains, identity, automation and operational resilience well enough to challenge designs and prioritise remediation. Strong candidates can describe a migration where they managed both the technical path and the human adoption work.
Discover and sequence the migration
Map repositories, build agents, artifact stores, deployment paths and their access models. Identify dependencies on individual administrators, undocumented credentials or tools whose operational support is unclear. Determine which differences between teams are justified by service needs and which create unnecessary duplication or inconsistent control.
Define migration waves around dependency and risk rather than organisational convenience. Establish acceptance evidence for each move, including reproducibility, access control, rollback and continuity of retained artifacts. Lead engineering and platform teams through the transition, ensuring that old paths are retired deliberately once the new arrangements have been proven.
Protect live delivery during platform change
Coordinate with service owners so that integration activity does not consume essential incident or maintenance capacity unnoticed. Where a platform change affects release frequency or developer workflow, provide practical support and collect evidence of the effect. A technically successful migration that leaves teams unable to deliver is not an acceptable outcome.
Operating ownership after integration
The lead will have authority over the agreed integration backlog and technical coordination, with material expenditure and risk acceptance reserved to designated decision-makers. The role does not confer unrestricted access to sensitive systems. The final handover should include platform ownership, support arrangements, access review responsibilities and unresolved technical debt. Success means an operable common environment, traceable delivery paths and fewer hidden dependencies, with clear evidence that service continuity was protected throughout the transition.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in the Netherlands usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in the Netherlands
- A non-executive or supervisory director attending meetings does not require a residence permit. Executive roles for non-EU nationals require a permit, commonly under the highly skilled migrant scheme.
