Transport and operational technology organisation in France
The problem this seat exists to solve
Take delivery responsibility for technology connecting passenger information, service channels and operational updates in a transport environment. The work is to ensure that people receive usable, consistent information when the service changes, including those who depend on staffed assistance or accessible channels.
A coherent passenger service when plans change
Trace how an operational decision becomes an update across digital displays, customer interfaces and frontline teams. Identify delays, conflicting sources and points where information loses the context needed for a passenger to act. Establish which source is authoritative for each type of update and how uncertainty should be communicated.
Make information authoritative
Lead the technology changes needed to align publication rules, event interfaces and support arrangements. Agree with operations when an update is sufficiently reliable to release and how corrections will propagate. Ensure that customer-facing systems can show useful information when an upstream source is delayed or unavailable.
Test with the people who use and explain it
Test disruption scenarios with frontline staff rather than relying solely on demonstrations of normal service. Examine the consequences for people making connections, seeking assistance or using channels with limited interaction. Work with service owners to prevent contradictory instructions from persisting after a correction. Establish ownership of information quality across organisational and supplier boundaries.
Technology delivery and messaging authority
The director owns the integration delivery plan and technology acceptance evidence. Operational teams remain accountable for service decisions, while communications and customer-service owners approve public messaging rules. Establish these boundaries so that the technology programme does not quietly assume editorial authority.
Candidate experience in time-sensitive services
Applicants should have led integration or digital service delivery in transport, travel or a similarly time-sensitive customer environment. Demonstrate how you have connected operational data with public-facing services and managed the consequences of inaccurate or incomplete information.
The role requires technical delivery competence and close attention to the work of service teams. Experience improving accessibility and assisted journeys is relevant when supported by practical implementation. Explain a situation where the correct technical data still produced an unhelpful customer message, and how you changed the design or operating process.
Keep correction routes operational
Leave tested disruption flows, clear source ownership and support procedures for stale or conflicting information. Success is consistent and actionable passenger information across channels, supported by evidence that staff can recognise and correct failures without waiting for the original implementation team.

Before you apply — this is an executive role
An interim seat needs work authorisation. A board seat in France usually does not.
This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.
- Position in France
- A non-executive director attending board meetings requires no work authorisation. An executive seat — directeur général or a directoire seat — held by a non-EU national raises residence-permit questions and should be checked before acceptance.
