The problem this seat exists to solve

A mid-market company needs immediate leadership following a period of weak performance or executive transition. The CEO will stabilise the organisation, establish a credible operating plan and rebuild accountability with owners, employees and key customers. You will assess immediate cash, customer and leadership risks and put a practical stabilisation plan in place.

Rebuild the operating business

1. Reset the business plan around profitable demand, realistic capacity and working capital requirements.

2. Clarify leadership responsibilities and address critical capability gaps with board support.

3. Maintain direct communication with major customers, employees and financing partners as agreed with the board.

Prepare the next leadership chapter

You will develop a sustainable operating cadence and prepare a clear handover to permanent leadership. By month nine: demonstrate progress against recovery priorities and complete a succession-ready handover package.

Early delivery expectations

  • First month: provide a stabilisation assessment and establish weekly operating and cash reviews.
  • By day 100: implement a board-approved recovery plan and leadership structure.

Authority and CEO credentials

The role carries executive delivery responsibility within an agreed budget and delegation. It reports to the CEO, or to the board where the appointment is for CEO. Major decisions follow the organisation’s reserved matters.

The role requires verified CEO or equivalent P and L leadership and practical turnaround experience, including customer management, cash discipline and team leadership.

Additional useful experience includes experience in businesses undergoing ownership change, founder transition or rapid operational reset.

Proposed tenure

An initial six to nine months is envisaged, normally four to five days a week, including diagnosis and an orderly handover. Start date, remuneration, travel and on-site attendance will be agreed for the appointment.

Before you apply — this is an executive role

An interim mandate needs work authorisation. A board seat in Finland usually does not.

This is the single most common way a cross-border interim engagement falls apart after it has been agreed. The visa-free position that applies to a non-executive director attending board meetings does not extend to an executive or operating role.

Position in Finland
A non-executive director attending board meetings requires no permit. Executive roles for non-EU/EEA nationals require a residence permit for an employed person.
