Corporate finance and capital structure organisation in United Arab Emirates
The problem this seat exists to solve
Deliver a treasury-risk assessment, proposed policy changes and a prioritised control plan. Explain the cost and practical burden of each recommendation, including where additional banking diversity or liquidity buffers reduce efficiency but improve resilience. The handover should include clear definitions and a repeatable forecasting discipline.
Liquidity, access and exposure
The adviser will assess treasury resilience across a group with multiple cash pools, currencies and banking relationships. The work must distinguish reported cash from accessible liquidity and routine volatility from exposures that could interrupt operations. A useful outcome is a treasury model that decision-makers can understand under pressure, supported by explicit ownership and practical contingency actions.
Begin with a map of bank accounts, facilities, guarantees, restricted balances and forecast cash movements. Reconcile the map to financial records and confirm who can initiate, approve and release transactions. Examine reliance on individual banks, payment channels and authorised signatories, including the operational consequences of an account restriction or service outage.
Assess currency mismatches between revenues, costs, debt and committed capital expenditure. Review how hedging decisions are authorised and whether instruments match genuine underlying exposure. Identify where cash forecasting depends on uncertain receipts or where intercompany settlements create a misleading picture of available headroom.
Prepare decisions before pressure arrives
Develop stress scenarios linked to plausible operating events, such as slower collections, delayed shipments or a reduction in facility availability. Each scenario should lead to a decision sequence: actions that management can take immediately, actions requiring approval and triggers for lender or board engagement. Recommendations must not rely on uncommitted facilities being available exactly when needed.
Professional requirements and transaction limits
Candidates need substantial corporate treasury or group-finance experience with multi-currency operations. They should demonstrate sound judgement around liquidity, financial instruments and payment controls, and know when specialist legal or accounting input is necessary. This mandate does not authorise trading, opening accounts, moving funds or negotiating binding finance terms. The adviser provides analysis and recommendations; approved executives retain execution authority and accountability for treasury transactions.

Before you apply — an advisory engagement
No office of director, and no appointment formalities.
An advisory engagement creates no directorship in the United Arab Emirates. There is no registry filing, no regulator pre-approval, no residency arithmetic and no statutory director liability — which is why it is so often the right first step into a market you do not yet know.
- On this brief
- Independence
- Where the engagement specifies independence from any search that follows, that is a requirement of the engagement rather than a courtesy — an adviser to a board is not a candidate for it.
