The mandate
The battery-silicon director departed after vehicle-pack testing showed temperature-dependent cell-voltage drift, intermittent daisy-chain loss and diagnostic gaps during high-voltage isolation transients. Bench silicon meets static accuracy, but package stress, balancing current and pack grounding create errors not represented in component verification. The interim leader must recover system-level safety evidence without allowing pack algorithms to hide unstable measurement or communication hardware.
Twelve months provide the recovery window. The first six weeks secure silicon, board and pack genealogy, reproduce adverse conditions and establish containment for affected lots. Months two through six close reference, mux, isolation, package and communication mechanisms. Months seven through ten qualify corrected silicon and diagnostics. The final two months appoint a permanent leader and transfer vehicle, supplier and production-release decisions.
Handover is achieved when cell measurement, temperature channels, isolation monitoring and communication diagnostics meet approved error budgets across voltage, temperature, balancing and pack fault conditions for ten weeks. The successor must chair one silicon-lot disposition, approve a diagnostic-coverage change and defend residual measurement uncertainty to the vehicle customer. Algorithm smoothing and excluded transient windows cannot count as hardware compliance.
The leader may quarantine lots, stop pack trials, approve design and test priorities inside authorised requirements, allocate failure-analysis capacity and commit ₹12 crore within the recovery envelope. They decide silicon readiness after safety and quality consultation. Pack control strategy, vehicle safety goals, customer release, recall decisions and long-term foundry awards remain with named product and executive authorities.
Excluded are redesigning the complete battery-management system, changing vehicle charging strategy, signing functional-safety cases, deciding customer compensation or replacing the full semiconductor platform. The mandate covers analogue-front-end evidence, diagnostics and volume control for the affected family. Product-liability conclusions and public field actions follow separate governance informed by preserved technical facts.

- Transfer mechanism records, diagnostic limits, lot dispositions, customer commitments and successor-led release evidence.
Candidate qualifications
- Led automotive battery-monitor or high-voltage analogue-front-end silicon from failure investigation through volume release across production vehicle programmes.
- Can evidence a pack-level accuracy defect absent from static component-bench qualification.
- Understands precision references, multiplexers, ADCs, isolation, daisy chains, diagnostics, package stress, pack transient behaviour and functional safety.
- Has governed vehicle or pack tests where measurement error could drive unsafe control decisions.
- Directed foundry, package, silicon, firmware and customer teams through shared configuration evidence.
- Developed a successor able to reject algorithmic compensation when physical measurement remains unstable.
