Vision-Language Factory Quality Leader

Vision-Language Factory Quality Leader mandate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam · Consumer Electronics Manufacturing

After a model update flooded electronics lines with false defect calls, a manufacturer needs an eleven-month executive to recover vision-language quality decisions and complete a controlled succession.

The mandate

The AI quality director resigned after a vision-language update linked ambiguous images to loosely matched work instructions, multiplying false defect calls and manual holds across two electronics lines. Production recovered through broad overrides, but those overrides now contaminate labels and the company cannot distinguish model, imaging, process or instruction failures.

The interim must start in Ho Chi Minh City within eighteen days and lead for eleven months. A permanent search begins after two product families complete controlled model release, expected in month six, with five weeks reserved for the successor to observe a supplier-quality review and chair the final factory release council.

Handover requires every deployed model to trace image, station, product, instruction and version evidence; priority defects to remain within signed escape and false-call corridors for three production cycles; override labels to be adjudicated; two line-degradation drills to pass; and the permanent appointee to accept the unresolved imaging and process-risk ledger.

The interim may pause models or stations, set imaging and label standards, redirect engineering, change temporary inspection capacity and move up to VND 180 billion within the recovery budget. Product release, permanent hiring, supplier termination, line capital and decisions above VND 55 billion require council approval; no throughput target may suppress a confirmed safety or compliance defect.

Product design, factory automation beyond inspection, supplier commercial negotiation and manufacturing-network strategy are explicitly out of scope. The seat owns vision-language inspection, evidence and action policy, human adjudication, release control and interfaces to process and supplier quality.

Why this seat is open

The model update exposed a quality system that could generate line consequences without reliable instruction grounding or label challenge. The former leader’s exit left production and AI teams using overrides to defend opposite performance narratives. Temporary executive control is needed to rebuild trustworthy defect decisions before permanent leadership scales the approach.

What you will own

  • Reconstruct affected calls across image and lighting condition, station, model, retrieved instruction, generated rationale, operator override and physical disposition.
  • Define defect-action tiers for observe, reinspect, hold, stop and escalate with confidence, evidence and human-authority requirements.
  • Rebuild labels by separating verified defect, acceptable variation, image failure, instruction ambiguity, process deviation and unjustified override.
  • Establish grounding tests that verify the correct product revision, operation, defect taxonomy and approved work instruction before explanation.
  • Install release gates combining held-out lots, line shadowing, defect escape, false calls, calibration, drift, rollback and production economics.
  • Command degradation drills covering camera shift, lighting change, new component finish and unavailable instruction source.
  • Transfer the model and camera registry, label decisions, line economics, risk ledger and release calendar through a successor-led cycle.

Candidate qualifications

  • Held senior authority for computer-vision or vision-language inspection in high-volume electronics or precision manufacturing.
  • Recovered a production model whose false calls or escapes materially affected line flow and quality disposition.
  • Linked images and generated explanations to controlled product, process and work-instruction versions.
  • Built label adjudication involving operators, process engineers and quality specialists without learning broad overrides as truth.
  • Balanced escape risk, false hold, inspection effort and throughput using realised manufacturing evidence.
  • Handed an AI quality system to permanent leadership after stable cycles and witnessed degradation testing.

Non-negotiables

  • Can begin within eighteen days, work on site in Ho Chi Minh City and travel monthly to another production or supplier location.
  • Will stop a model or station when safety, compliance or defect-escape evidence fails, regardless of throughput pressure.
  • Brings direct factory AI quality authority; laboratory vision research or generic manufacturing transformation is insufficient.
  • Must disclose electronics, inspection-vendor, camera, model-provider and supplier relationships before incident access.
  1. 49 words maximum. State your earliest Vietnam start and any obligation incompatible with eleven months of executive authority.
  2. 49 words maximum. Describe a false-defect surge you recovered and how you separated model, imaging and process causes.
  3. 49 words maximum. Which override pattern would make you quarantine labels before the next model release?
