Offshore-Wind Digital Research GCC Maturation Director

Offshore-Wind Digital Research GCC Maturation Director mandate in Oslo, Norway · Offshore Wind Energy
An offshore-wind developer needs a six-month operating design to mature its India digital-research team from isolated wake and structural prototypes into asset-tested methods with accountable adoption owners.
The mandate
India researchers have produced wake-loss, structural monitoring and maintenance concepts, but asset teams receive them as demonstrations without stated use conditions or adoption ownership. Offshore measurements are expensive and incomplete, creating disagreement over validation sufficiency. The company needs an operating design that matures scientific work without pretending a research centre owns turbine operation or investment decisions.
The six-month deliverable includes a digital-research charter, three method pathways and an exercised asset-adoption kit. Milestone one completes prototype and evidence mapping by week five; milestone two establishes research and asset decision boundaries in month three; milestone three tests data-loss and changed-site scenarios in month five; milestone four delivers portfolio gates, roles, economics and accepted artefacts.
The client will provide approved offshore datasets, sensor and inspection histories, model assumptions, prototype repositories, asset decisions, supplier terms and named engineering owners. Acceptance requires India research leads to diagnose two unseen evidence changes, state method limits and propose an appropriate adoption or stop route. Technology and asset executives jointly sign each pathway.
The engagement excludes operating turbines, certifying structures, approving maintenance, commissioning offshore measurement, selecting suppliers and building production systems. Consultants may define research and adoption evidence but cannot issue an engineering assurance opinion or commit asset capital. All data remains inside client-governed research environments.
Editable outputs will cover hypothesis records, evidence grades, intended-use envelopes, replication plans, adoption decisions, field-feedback loops, role profiles and maturity measures. Client scientists must apply the method to a fourth prototype before final acceptance. Implementation support is separately scoped and cannot limit ownership of the delivered research kit.
Why this is external work
Researchers favour technical novelty, asset teams prioritise immediate reliability and suppliers control portions of field evidence. The prospective GCC needs a neutral maturity model before hiring around prototypes. Independent offshore digital-research experience can connect scientific uncertainty to adoption without claiming asset authority.
What you will own
- Catalogue wake, structural and maintenance prototypes by hypothesis, evidence grade, intended use, uncertainty and asset decision.
- Define research-method ownership separately from structural assurance, maintenance approval and accountable offshore asset operation.
- Establish India authority over experimental design, analytical limitations, replication evidence and formal adoption recommendation.
- Map offshore measurements, inspection histories, supplier models and site dependencies that determine whether a method can travel.
- Design principal-scientist and research-product roles with field exposure, external challenge and two-deep successor coverage.
- Exercise missing-sensor, changed-foundation, new-turbine and contradictory-inspection scenarios across all three selected methods.
- Deliver method pathways, evidence kit, role architecture, portfolio gates, investment economics and unresolved asset questions.
Candidate qualifications
- Led digital research for offshore wind, rotating equipment or comparable field-intensive energy assets.
- Moved a wake, structural or maintenance method from prototype through independent challenge into asset use.
- Built India physical-science researchers with authority over hypotheses, limitations, replication and adoption recommendations.
- Rejected technically elegant work when offshore evidence, site transferability or accountable user ownership was insufficient.
- Integrated suppliers, inspectors, asset engineers and data scientists without confusing research with assurance.
- Delivered research-maturity artefacts that client teams reused on additional methods without consulting dependence.
Non-negotiables
- Can complete two India residencies and all four Oslo research milestones within six months.
- Will disclose wind developers, turbine makers, inspection firms, sensor vendors, universities and investment interests.
- Brings offshore or physical-asset digital research maturation; generic innovation-lab design is insufficient.
- Accepts client-controlled data, no asset or assurance authority and joint technology-asset acceptance.
- 49 words maximum. Describe an offshore or physical-asset method you stopped because field evidence could not travel.
- 49 words maximum. Which research judgment can India own without approving turbine maintenance or structural assurance?
- 49 words maximum. What offshore dataset and decision history must the client supply before your baseline closes?
