Maritime Digital-Twin GCC Stabilisation Leader

Urgent / Unplanned

Maritime Digital-Twin GCC Stabilisation Leader mandate in Chennai, India · Global Container Shipping

A shipping group needs a fifteen-month executive after a vessel digital twin recommended an infeasible maintenance window, exposing stale engineering assumptions and weak product authority in Chennai.

The mandate

A propulsion digital twin recommended maintenance during a voyage window that lacked port capability and ignored a recently changed component configuration. Chennai modellers had flagged data uncertainty, but fleet engineers and vendors controlled assumptions through separate channels. The global digital-product director was removed after the reliability council found no named owner for model fitness across vessel class, route and maintenance context.

The interim must join onsite in Chennai within fourteen days and lead for fifteen months. Recruitment of a permanent maritime digital-products executive begins after three vessel-class twins pass route, sensor-loss and maintenance scenarios, anticipated in month eight. The successor will lead one fleet deployment decision and an urgent model-withdrawal exercise during a six-week overlap.

Handover requires five digital twins to have intended-use envelopes, configuration and sensor provenance, uncertainty thresholds, named model and marine owners, exercised withdrawal paths and observed benefit. Chennai product leaders must chair two fleet reviews without overseas shadow approval. The successor receives vessel exceptions, vendor dependencies, model limitations, benefit evidence, talent actions and open safety questions.

The interim may withdraw a model recommendation, pause deployment to a vessel class, require physical inspection, change product acceptance gates and commit up to ₹42 crore within the approved portfolio. The master and marine officers retain vessel command; authorised engineering officers approve maintenance and safety decisions; fleet planning owns commercial schedules. Chennai leaders own digital-product fitness and escalation within those boundaries.

Vessel operations, maintenance execution, chartering, procurement of fleet hardware, statutory surveys and models outside the five named products are excluded. The seat covers digital-twin product authority, evidence, marine interfaces, vendor knowledge, India leadership and succession. It cannot substitute analytical recommendation for accountable nautical or engineering judgment.

Why this seat is open

The infeasible recommendation revealed a product whose technical output was detached from vessel configuration and operating constraint, followed by executive removal. Marine teams distrust central models, while vendors and source experts control crucial assumptions. A temporary maritime product leader can restore fitness decisions in Chennai and prove them through real fleet contexts.

What you will own

  • Reconstruct the failed recommendation across sensor state, component configuration, route, port capability, uncertainty and maintenance decision.
  • Define intended-use and fitness envelopes for propulsion, energy, hull, auxiliary and maintenance digital twins.
  • Allocate Chennai model-product, marine engineering, vendor, fleet and vessel decision rights with withdrawal thresholds.
  • Establish configuration, sensor, maintenance and environmental provenance needed before producing an operational recommendation.
  • Build maritime product, modelling and data-reliability leaders with vessel exposure and exercised deputy coverage.
  • Run route change, sensor degradation, component substitution, false alert and infeasible-maintenance scenarios.
  • Transfer product dossiers, vessel exceptions, model limitations, vendor actions and talent evidence through successor-led fleet reviews.

Candidate qualifications

  • Held product authority for maritime, aviation or heavy-asset digital twins used in operational maintenance decisions.
  • Recovered a model after stale configuration, missing context or uncertain sensor data produced an infeasible recommendation.
  • Built India digital-product leaders credible with marine engineers, fleet operations, vendors and safety authorities.
  • Distinguished analytical fitness and withdrawal decisions from accountable vessel command and maintenance approval.
  • Exercised models across asset variants and degraded evidence before permitting scale across a fleet.
  • Handed a high-consequence digital portfolio to permanent leadership through observed deployment and withdrawal decisions.

Non-negotiables

  • Can assume onsite Chennai leadership within fourteen days and complete required vessel and fleet travel.
  • Will accept exclusive executive accountability and continuous escalation for the five digital-twin products.
  • Brings asset digital-twin product recovery plus India leadership scale; generic predictive analytics is insufficient.
  • Must disclose shipping, ship-management, classification, equipment-vendor, data-platform and maritime-technology relationships.
  1. 49 words maximum. Describe a digital-twin recommendation you withdrew because physical operating context invalidated it.
  2. 49 words maximum. Which fitness decision belongs in Chennai without displacing the vessel master’s authority?
  3. 49 words maximum. State your Chennai availability and the largest asset-twin portfolio you directly governed.
