Precious-Material Conversion Yield and Cash Release Lead mandate in Bengaluru, India · Jewellery Manufacturing
A three-month consulting diagnostic will reconcile precious-material conversion yield with inventory finance and cash-release options, producing a traceable evidence pack rather than promising recoveries unsupported by production and custody records.
The mandate
The narrow problem is that material conversion records do not explain how much inventory value is recoverable or how a yield intervention would release cash. The consultant will reconcile that relationship for an agreed set of manufacturing flows. The project is not a forensic accusation, a production-engineering redesign or a commitment to recover a predetermined amount.
The deliverables are a material conversion bridge, a valuation and recoverability evidence register, and ranked cash-release options with operational prerequisites. Each option must identify whether value comes from improved yield, reduced holding time or a changed financing requirement. Combining these effects into one unexplained saving would misrepresent the available opportunity.
The three-month engagement starts on 19 October 2026 and ends on 18 January 2027. Milestone one on 16 November delivers the sampled flow reconciliation and ownership gaps. Milestone two on 14 December provides the yield-to-value bridge and tested opportunity hypotheses. Milestone three on 18 January delivers validated options, sensitivity analysis and a maintenance workshop. Four days weekly are reserved for delivery.
The CFO and manufacturing finance sponsor accept the work jointly. Selected flows must reconcile opening material, additions, output, recoverable residue and closing stock; valuation assumptions must link to approved finance policy and custody evidence. Cash-release proposals need a reproducible calculation and a named operational dependency. A negative finding remains valid where the tested hypothesis does not support recovery.
The sponsor provides authorised production movements, cost records, custody information and nominated operational reviewers. Work is based in Bengaluru with approved observation visits. Material disposal, physical-security investigation and execution of treasury transactions are excluded. Additional flow families or specialist laboratory testing require a separately approved scope, with no presumption that the project fee covers unlimited investigation.
What you will own
- Reconcile selected material flows through ownership and custody categories, recording unexplained movements separately instead of forcing mass and value totals to match.
- Translate conversion yields into financial consequences using approved valuation bases, distinguishing recoverable residue from process loss that cannot responsibly support a cash claim.
- Test proposed recovery hypotheses against production and finance records, retaining the evidence for rejected ideas as carefully as for the options recommended.
- Build cash-release calculations that separate reduced holding time, improved yield and financing effects, preventing double counting between operational and treasury benefits.
- Rank options by evidence strength, execution dependency and reversibility, making clear which opportunity needs operational validation before any cash forecast changes.
- Review the bridge with cost and production owners using fresh flows, resolving definition disputes through observed records rather than seniority or preferred totals.
- Transfer the reconciliation method and opportunity register to the internal custodian, proving that a new period can be processed without consultant interpretation.
Candidate qualifications
- Show hands-on manufacturing finance analysis involving precious or similarly high-value materials. Explain a conversion reconciliation, the ownership or unit-of-measure issue encountered and how the final financial conclusion was supported by custody and production evidence.
- Demonstrate judgement about recoverability and yield-driven value. Candidates should describe a proposed saving that proved overstated, the data or policy basis used to challenge it and how the sponsor's decision changed without overstating the consultant's operational authority.
- Evidence practical diagnostic delivery with acceptance tests and clear scope. Provide an example where a negative or limited finding was accepted because the method was sound, and distinguish analysis of an opportunity from responsibility for realising it through production or treasury action.
- Be able to work directly with sensitive inventory and cost records under authorised access. Explain source lineage, control of working files and transfer to an internal analyst. Professional finance competence is required, while production-engineering, forensic-investigation and regulated dealing credentials are not assumed from a finance title. Explain how an internal analyst reproduced the material-value bridge when a new production period introduced an unfamiliar exception. Describe how ownership changes affected the analyst's reconciliation of that exception.
