Mortgage-Service Reporting and Cost-to-Serve Model mandate in Bengaluru, India · Mortgage Services Technology
Build a six-month mortgage-services finance reporting and cost-to-serve package, reconciling local and global framework evidence with delivery economics through dated artefacts and internal acceptance without regulated servicing decisions or enterprise executive authority.
The mandate
Mortgage-service delivery economics and local-global reporting are explained through separate finance models that do not share controlled definitions. The consultant will build a package connecting reporting comparability and cost-to-serve. The task is evidence and decision support, not mortgage servicing policy, credit approval or a formal opinion that the business is compliant with every applicable obligation.
The deliverable is a Mortgage-Service Reporting and Cost-to-Serve Pack containing US GAAP and Ind AS difference papers where applicable, delivery-cost definitions, source bridges and a reviewer guide. Authorised accounting positions must be cited. The pack will preserve the distinction between accounting treatment, management profitability and regulated service decisions retained outside finance.
Work commences on 19 October 2026 with reporting and delivery evidence discovery. By 18 December 2026, the first accepted stage supplies the source baseline and sample framework bridge; by 18 February 2027, the second delivers cost-to-serve modules and pilot review; by 18 April 2027, the third completes fresh-period validation and the accepted pack. Payment stages are 25%, 35% and 40%.
The India CFO and global reporting sponsor jointly accept the work. They must reproduce sampled reporting differences and delivery costs, identify retained policy approval and use the model on a new period without unsupported allocations. Final approval requires internal finance reviewers to distinguish a management profitability signal from an accounting or regulated servicing conclusion requiring separate authority.
The sponsor provides authorised ledgers, accounting-policy references, delivery-cost evidence and named local-global reviewers. Sensitive customer data is minimised and production access restricted. Policy adoption, regulated servicing design, system procurement and historical restatement are excluded; substantive new source reconstruction or additional reporting scope requires signed change control with revised milestones and acceptance.
What you will own
- Catalogue reporting and delivery-cost sources with authorised owners, identifying policy and definition dependencies before selecting samples or building the proposed local-global finance reconciliation and cost-to-serve modules.
- Reconcile mortgage-service delivery accruals, intercompany charges and reporting adjustments to authorised local-global positions, testing whether service activity and cost recognition refer to the same period and retained accounting scope.
- Define delivery cost-to-serve with capacity and allocation evidence, showing limitations where cost pools or service measures cannot support the proposed profitability comparison across activities or periods.
- Construct reviewer questions that distinguish accounting, operating and regulated service conclusions, preserving retained approvals rather than allowing a finance model to imply customer-policy or credit authority.
- Pilot the pack on difficult cases involving changed allocation or reporting definitions, recording residual differences and specialist dependencies instead of forcing every output into apparent financial comparability.
- Validate internal users through a fresh-period review, observing whether they can reproduce calculations and identify the boundary where a conclusion must remain with authorised accounting or regulated owners.
- Deliver the accepted pack, source dictionary and maintenance triggers with policy adoption, production system changes and regulated servicing responsibilities explicitly outside completed consulting acceptance and project billing.
Candidate qualifications
- Demonstrate senior financial-services technology reporting or business-finance delivery with a personally constructed reconciliation or cost-to-serve artefact. Provide a redacted case that changed a decision and identify retained global authority. CFO experience is relevant only when supported by technical methods; this consulting role does not itself grant executive or regulated operating power.
- Show practical US GAAP, Ind AS or relevant multi-framework accounting competence together with delivery-cost judgement. Explain a management profitability measure that differed legitimately from financial reporting. Candidates must preserve authorised policy positions and specialist reliance, and distinguish finance analysis from mortgage customer policy, credit decisions or legal and regulatory opinions outside the scope.
- Provide reproducible project delivery with controlled source access, objective acceptance and a fresh-period test that exposed a defect. Describe reviewer challenge and rework. No particular software brand is prescribed; maintainable definitions, allocation logic and internal reviewers able to operate the pack matter more than presentation polish or a branded dashboard.
- Establish twenty-three years of relevant experience, confidentiality and a completed methods handover across local-global stakeholders. Disclose provider, platform and implementation-linked interests, avoiding remuneration tied to approved investment or reported savings. New source reconstruction and reporting frameworks must be priced through change control rather than silently incorporated to satisfy an approaching deadline.
