Fundraise Financial Data and Multi-GAAP Close Readiness mandate in Bengaluru, India · Product Technology
Create a six-month product finance readiness package, connecting multi-framework close judgements, financial data and investor evidence through dated tests and internal controller acceptance without fundraising negotiation, valuation opinions or enterprise finance authority.
The mandate
Finance information prepared for funding discussions cannot yet be traced consistently to close judgements across the relevant reporting frameworks. The consultant will create a controlled financial-data readiness package. The defined scope is evidence and close comparability, not fundraising negotiation, investment suitability, valuation fairness or authority to approve accounting policies independently.
The deliverable is a Financial Data and Multi-GAAP Close Readiness Pack with source maps, framework-difference papers, reconciliation samples, audit-evidence references and a controlled information-request protocol. It must show where an adjustment arises from a valid framework difference and where evidence is incomplete. No unverified investor claim will be converted into an accounting conclusion merely to make the package appear ready.
Connected-product finance records enter controlled discovery on 19 October 2026. The financial-data baseline and sample hardware/software framework bridge are due on 18 December 2026, followed by close-judgement and evidence modules on 18 February 2027. On 18 April 2027, fresh-request testing and controller rehearsal close the six-month project with the accepted pack. Billing follows 25%, 35% and 40% against accepted outputs.
The controller sponsor and CFO jointly accept work when sampled figures reproduce from approved records, framework differences cite authorised positions and source permissions are clear. Internal staff must answer a fresh financial information request and identify an unapproved judgement correctly. Acceptance does not require a favourable funding narrative or a formal audit opinion from the consultant.
The sponsor supplies authorised ledgers, reporting-policy references, audit evidence and access to accounting and tax reviewers. Customer and commercially sensitive data is restricted to minimum necessary use. Funding execution, accounting-policy adoption, system procurement and historical restatement are excluded; material source reconstruction or a newly requested framework requires priced change control with revised dates and tests.
What you will own
- Catalogue financial-data sources and reporting-framework dependencies with authorised owners, identifying unsupported figures or permissions before drafting the proposed readiness pack or external information-response rules.
- Reconcile sample framework differences through approved accounting positions, separating legitimate treatment changes from source-data defects and matters requiring retained CFO or specialist judgement before conclusion.
- Build close-evidence references that trace estimates, inventory and revenue figures to reviewed working papers, avoiding a visually complete data room containing unsupported or inconsistent finance assertions.
- Define the information-request protocol with source, review and release approvals, ensuring sensitive financial material cannot be circulated merely because a consultant has assembled it for readiness testing.
- Test the pack on difficult requests involving changed estimates or framework differences, recording contradictions and the evidence needed before internal owners can provide an authorised answer.
- Validate controller staff on a fresh request and unapproved-position case, observing whether they preserve accounting boundaries instead of inventing an adjustment to make the response appear complete.
- Deliver the accepted readiness pack, maintenance guide and residual dependency register, with funding, audit opinion and policy-adoption responsibilities explicitly outside the completed consulting acceptance boundary.
Candidate qualifications
- Demonstrate experienced controllership or financial-data readiness delivery in technology, products or a comparable reporting environment. Provide a redacted source-to-close evidence chain personally constructed and explain its reviewer challenge. The project requires functional accounting judgement, not capital brokerage, investor introductions or authority inferred from participation in a funding process.
- Show competence across relevant reporting frameworks with practical reconciliation of estimates, revenue, inventory and consolidation differences. Explain a position that required authorised policy or specialist review. A professional finance qualification or equivalent experience is expected; the consultant must preserve the difference between evidence preparation, management adoption and a formal assurance opinion.
- Provide project delivery evidence with controlled permissions, reproducible samples and objective acceptance. Describe a fresh information request that exposed a readiness gap and the correction made. Tool skills are useful, but source lineage, version control and an internal team able to maintain the pack matter more than branded software familiarity or presentation polish.
- Establish twenty years of relevant career evidence, confidentiality and a completed controller-level handover. Disclose investor, funding-success and implementation-linked remuneration, and avoid incentives favouring an unsupported narrative. The project cannot guarantee capital access or audit acceptance, and new frameworks or substantive reconstruction must be scoped and priced before work rather than silently absorbed.
