Close Process Mining and Redesign Director mandate in Warsaw, Poland

Confidential Close Process Mining and Redesign Director in Warsaw, Poland, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. Consulting Finance & Accounting appointment at Director level, a 3-month mandate horizon; five days a week.

The mandate

This concentrated three-month project will use event evidence to find the close behaviours that calendars and interviews do not reveal, then redesign a bounded set of high-impact paths. The objective is not to install a permanent analytics capability or produce decorative process maps. It is to convert actual sequence, repetition and waiting into controlled operating changes proven in one live close.

By the end of week two, the director must agree the event population, data-quality caveats and six priority questions with the Chief Accounting Officer. Week four ends with an accepted conformance and variant pack. Weeks five through eight translate findings into redesigned paths and control implications. The final month runs a live pilot, measures results and transfers the analysis method.

Four artifacts determine acceptance: a defensible event-data baseline, a close variant and conformance analysis, a signed redesign-and-control pack, and a live-pilot result with owner handbook. The work must distinguish an actual violation from an approved variant and a technical timestamp from meaningful finance activity. Unsupported precision will not pass review.

Management will provide authorised event extracts, process calendars, control descriptions, task records and access to participants. The consulting director can define analyses, recommend redesigned routes and coordinate the pilot. The role cannot alter production data, approve accounting treatment, certify a control or represent the event log as complete where source limitations exist.

The Chief Accounting Officer accepts the final milestone when the pilot demonstrates a measurable reduction in selected rework or waiting, preserves defined controls and leaves owners able to rerun the analysis. Broader data engineering, tool procurement and redesign outside the selected close paths are excluded and will be listed as separately sequenced opportunities.

What you will own

  • Agree six finance questions and a bounded event population with documented completeness, timestamp and semantic limitations.
  • Reconstruct actual close variants, loops, handbacks and waits, differentiating approved paths from non-conforming behaviour.
  • Quantify which variants drive elapsed time, late adjustment, reopened work or reviewer burden.
  • Select redesign targets using financial and control consequence rather than frequency alone.
  • Produce future-state paths with ownership, evidence, control treatment, entry conditions and exception routes.
  • Pilot selected changes through one live close and compare results with the accepted baseline.
  • Teach owners to rerun and interpret the analysis without depending on the consulting team.
  • Recommend follow-on opportunities; management retains platform, policy and permanent implementation decisions.

Candidate qualifications

  • Demonstrate process-mining leadership in finance where event evidence changed a close design or control decision.
  • Show how you detected incomplete, misleading or semantically ambiguous event data before drawing conclusions.
  • Provide an example of distinguishing an approved process variant from genuine non-conformance.
  • Bring close-process depth sufficient to interpret journals, reconciliations, approvals, handbacks and reopening events.
  • Evidence a live-cycle pilot with a measured result rather than a modeled improvement alone.
  • Describe how operational owners learned to repeat the analysis after the project ended.
  • Show firm scope control when interesting findings emerged outside the accepted event and process perimeter.

Working terms and boundaries

  • The three-month fee covers four milestones at five days a week: data baseline, analysis, redesign and live-pilot handover.
  • The Chief Accounting Officer accepts artifacts against data caveats, reproducibility, control preservation and pilot evidence.
  • Management supplies authorised event data, control material, calendars and participant access to the agreed timetable.
  • Production-data changes, accounting conclusions, tool procurement and redesign beyond selected paths are excluded.
  • Expansion requires a signed change note defining added data, artifact, schedule, test and fee.
