Seafood Export-Allocation Recovery Leader — Premium Proteins
Urgent / Unplanned
Seafood Export-Allocation Recovery Leader mandate in Santiago, Chile · Premium Seafood Exports
A Santiago seafood exporter needs an eight-month leader after harvest variability, inspection holds and air-ocean capacity conflict increased spoilage, downgrades and missed premium-market sales windows.
The mandate
Harvest timing and fish condition increasingly diverge from booked air and reefer capacity, while destination inspection holds consume remaining shelf life. Commercial teams protect premium orders; operations protect processing yield; logistics books multiple options without cancelling unusable legs. The export director was dismissed after apparent service recovery relied on costly downgrades and product age that destination teams could not reconstruct.
The interim starts within ten days for eight months, taking harvest-to-market allocation authority through the primary production season and claims close. The first month establishes lot condition, time and option truth; later phases reset mode, market and hold-response decisions. Permanent recruitment begins in month four, with six weeks of paired daily allocation and two unannounced inspection disruptions before handover.
Handover requires lot identity, harvest and processing clocks, condition evidence, inspection status, air and ocean capacity, market windows, downgrade paths, claim custody and contribution. Completion is proven when the successor absorbs an inspection hold and sudden air-capacity loss, reallocating without unsafe release, hidden age, speculative bookings or interim contact.
The leader may redirect lots within approved market and Quality status, switch mode, reserve cold capacity, cancel unrecoverable bookings, approve downgrade within CLP4.2 billion per event, replace recovery leads and release authorised logistics spend. Product release, destination regulatory position, customer price, harvest plan and write-offs above delegation require accountable approval.
Aquaculture biology, processing design, market pricing, long-term carrier tenders, certification schemes and replacement of planning systems are excluded. The interim cannot change harvest age, pressure inspection or Quality clearance, ship against condition hold, use duplicate bookings without exit rules or count downgraded volume as premium service. Every option must show time decay and cancellation consequence.
Why this seat is open
The former director left when a destination review found that recovered delivery metrics hid downgrades, age and unused bookings. Temporary authority is required for the live harvest while permanent recruitment targets a leader able to arbitrate perishable condition, market value and scarce capacity.
What you will own
- Reconcile each lot across harvest, processing, condition, inspection, booking, market window, age and contribution.
- Decide air, ocean, market, hold, downgrade and cancellation options inside Quality and commercial boundaries.
- Establish intervention clocks for capacity loss, inspection query, condition change and missed market window.
- Govern multiple bookings through option value, confirmation, cancellation, cost and capacity-release evidence.
- Align farms, plants, inspectors, forwarders, carriers and destination teams around one lot truth.
- Command five simulations involving harvest shift, inspection hold, air loss, reefer delay and customer rejection.
- Transfer allocation authority after successor-led daily command and one compound condition-and-capacity event spanning harvest shift, inspection delay, temperature deviation and buyer rejection.
Candidate qualifications
- Held end-to-end export logistics authority for premium seafood or similarly time-sensitive proteins.
- Allocated perishable lots across air, ocean, markets and downgrade channels under severe time decay.
- Managed inspection, customs, cold-store, carrier and destination handoffs without overriding Quality authority.
- Built option economics that exposed duplicate bookings, cancellation cost and remaining shelf life.
- Reconciled claims and service outcomes to lot condition, custody and commercial contribution.
- Transferred seasonal allocation command through live harvest and compound inspection-capacity disruption, with documented species, shelf-life, customer and margin trade-offs.
Non-negotiables
- Available within ten days for Santiago residence, origin rotations and five simulations.
- Direct premium seafood export command is required; ambient food logistics alone is insufficient.
- Will disclose producers, processors, forwarders, carriers, inspectors, traders and insurers.
- Will not release age, override Quality, influence inspectors, hide downgrades or retain speculative bookings indefinitely.
- 49 words maximum. Describe a seafood allocation where premium airfreight was not the highest-value recoverable option.
- 49 words maximum. How did you control multiple bookings as shelf life decayed?
- 49 words maximum. State your Santiago availability and the largest perishable export programme led.
