What to write. How to build it.

Build for boards, CEOs, nomination committees and people leadership teams. The examples below are fictional demonstrations. Write your own account using facts and outcomes you are authorised to publish.

01 / Write a CHRO leadership headline

Name the value you create and the kind of challenge you lead. Keep it to one clear sentence; let the evidence elsewhere substantiate it.

Building the leadership, culture and capability to thrive.

Fictional example · Replace it with your own positioning.

02 / Structure your executive biography

Start with your current remit and the enterprise problems you solve. Add two career chapters that explain your judgement. Finish with your leadership approach and the conversations you welcome. Use your real scope and dates.

I build the leadership, organisation and people capabilities that allow strategy to become sustained performance. My work spans succession, organisation design and culture change, with a focus on making people decisions both thoughtful and operationally practical. The CHRO's role is to bring a clear view of human and organisational capacity into the enterprise agenda. That includes asking whether the leadership model supports the strategy, whether the organisation can absorb the change being proposed and whether its systems reward the behaviours it says it values. I favour evidence, candid dialogue and careful execution. I want leaders to share ownership of their people decisions and employees to experience clarity between the organisation's commitments and its everyday practices.

Fictional biography · A structural example, not a claim about you.

03 / Build a convincing CHRO case study

Describe a succession, culture or organisation-design case using anonymised evidence and no identifiable employee or candidate information.

  1. Context: what was happening and why it mattered.
  2. Your remit: what you owned and where you influenced others.
  3. Decision: the alternatives and the trade-off you made.
  4. Evidence: approved outcomes, dates, units and attribution limits.
  5. Reflection: what you learned and would apply again.

Never invent a metric. Use a precise qualitative outcome when a number cannot be shared.

04 / Plan your expertise and leadership journal

Anchor each expertise area in an example: leadership succession, organisation design, people strategy, culture transformation. Signature and Royale include a journal; Royale also includes speaking and media.

  • • Succession planning must reach beyond the list
  • • Culture is experienced through operating decisions
  • • Workforce strategy starts with capability demand

For each topic, state a decision your audience faces, explain your point of view and offer a practical question they can use. Publish original, reviewed material.
