Board mandate
The director will ensure that brand velocity is supported by safe formulations, honest claims, controlled manufacturing, viable cohorts and responsible consumer data use.
Strategic priorities
- Establish product governance from consumer need and formulation through stability, compatibility, safety assessment, manufacturing transfer, release and post-market review.
- Require substantiation for dermatological, clinical, natural, clean, organic, toxin-free, efficacy, sustainability and comparative claims.
- Govern contract manufacturers, laboratories and ingredient suppliers through qualification, change control, batch traceability, audits and recall rights.
- Track complaints, adverse reactions, returns, counterfeits, quality deviations and influencer claims by product, batch, channel and cohort.
- Review launch economics after sampling, discounts, returns, influencer spend, marketplace fees, inventory, working capital and repeat purchase.
- Separate owned-site, marketplace, retail, salon and distributor economics; prevent gross revenue or GMV from masking channel cost.
- Govern influencer, celebrity and expert endorsements through disclosure, approved claims, content control and incident response.
- Protect skin, preference, purchase, image, quiz and behavioural data used for personalisation or AI recommendations.
- Set acquisition gates for brand rights, formulation ownership, claims, inventory, founder dependence, channel quality and integration.
- Review packaging, recycled content, refill and disposal claims against product protection, collection and actual end-of-life evidence.

- Whether a high-growth product should be withdrawn after an adverse-reaction signal.
- Whether an influencer claim requires correction, campaign suspension or consumer remediation.
- Whether rapid offline expansion earns return after inventory and trade terms.

Candidate profile
Essential: Former beauty, personal care, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, retail, e-commerce or product-safety CEO/COO/CMO/quality leader, regulator or Board director; product claims, contract manufacturing, omnichannel economics and consumer trust.
Preferred: dermatology/cosmetic science, D2C cohorts, influencer governance, acquisitions, consumer data/AI, international cosmetics regulation.
Eligibility and conflicts
Active IICA Databank inclusion and applicable proficiency-test or exemption evidence are mandatory. Candidates must disclose brands, influencers, retailers, marketplaces, manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, laboratories, agencies, acquisition targets, auditors and competitors.
