I am CMO of Zeqvemti Assurance, a fictional commercial general insurer in Kolkata. Forty-two employees work through four marketing heads, with eighteen agency colleagues counted separately. I hold ₹26.8 crore annual marketing authority, excluding commissions and professional insurance expenditure. The insurer's ₹2,140 crore gross written premium for FY ending March 2026 is a measure of insurance volume, not company revenue or the money my team controls. I report to Arun Qevzetni and work with Farida Qevzeni on the experience our communication describes.
My forty-year career began in an advertising agency, where a message had to survive changes in format, context and ownership after the original presentation. Insurance made that discipline more consequential. A broad claim can borrow credibility from a narrower service result. A survey can describe its volunteers without describing the whole market. A purchased creative asset can still need a clearer permission account before it moves between agencies. I want those distinctions visible before reach becomes the main argument for publication.
In 2019 I approved a proposal describing the whole insurer as paper-free. Reviewing thirty-six defined customer journeys found twenty-one without paper requirements and fifteen that still required paper under the reviewed conditions. The broad promise was mine to correct. We withdrew and rewrote the material at a total cost of ₹38 lakh: ₹12 lakh already placed and unrecoverable, plus ₹26 lakh of new work. The correction preserved scoped service statements without pretending the entire enterprise had reached the same position.
A service-query audience was not automatically a sales audience
I declined a proposed retargeting segment of 120,000 browser identifiers derived from service queries. A ₹96 lakh campaign proposal became ₹72 lakh of contextual placements, with ₹24 lakh uncommitted. The change did not turn identifiers into a count of people or prove a sales return.
The survey result belonged to the people actually recruited
A 1,250-person online volunteer study produced 54% recognition within that sample. It did not represent offline audiences or the whole Indian market. We withdrew the broader headline and funded a separate mixed-mode inquiry whose results were pending at the December 2023 review.
The installed advertisement needed its own reading test
Eighteen of forty-eight outdoor installations were difficult to read under reviewed glare and height conditions. After repositioning and replacement work, forty-three passed the field recheck and five were withdrawn. Installation alone was not treated as useful communication.
Current focus
The evidence and permissions that travel with a public message: its service scope, audience purpose, research population, creative rights and actual reading conditions. I want the narrower accurate account to remain commercially usable without borrowing an authority it has not earned.
Conversations I welcome
A first outside board contribution after employer consent and qualified appointment review. My CMO responsibilities do not include a statutory directorship, and I own no equity in Zeqvemti. Registration and proficiency assessment were completed in May and September 2026 in this fictional account; eighteen possible annual days remain provisional.
