Mandate

Explain product value, operating assumptions and channel support without expanding technical claims

Outcomes

  • Rebuilt payload comparisons around the relevant configuration
  • Removed a cost promise dependent on uncompleted dispatches
  • Separated distributor readiness and return observations from broader claims

Decisions in context

I became CMO in February 2021, taking responsibility for 22 marketing colleagues through three leads and ₹8.4 crore annual expense under Anita. Tavqeshi now employs 340 people and serves 46 business customers, with ₹126 crore revenue and ₹11.8 crore operating profit for FY 2026. Prakash leads technical work; I do not qualify medicine shipments or make disposition decisions. My recent cases concern useful payload, reuse economics, channel support and environmental language. The work requires collaboration with technical, operating and finance colleagues without making their responsibilities disappear into marketing approval. I am a beneficiary of the employee trust that holds 45%, alongside a 55% regional industrial investor, and have no direct shares or statutory seat. The commercial account must remain useful after a buyer examines the conditions behind it.

Mandate

Lead product communication and commercial positioning across the packaging range

Outcomes

  • Expanded from distributor development into the whole marketing remit
  • Owned withdrawal of the 2018 duration brochure before circulation
  • Changed review of the conditions attached to product propositions

Decisions in context

The April 2014 appointment broadened my responsibility to seventeen colleagues through three leads and ₹5.7 crore annual expense. Tavqeshi employed 240 people and recorded ₹81 crore revenue for FY 2015. In 2018 I approved a forty-eight-hour brochure statement that did not keep the trial conditions sufficiently visible. We withdrew 9,000 copies before circulation, wrote off ₹28 lakh and delayed the launch by six weeks. The technical objection required me to revisit my own approval while colleagues were preparing customer conversations. I learned to include the conditions of a proposition in the principal explanation, rather than rely on a later discussion to correct an expansive first impression. The role developed my judgement about the relationship between a product's evidence, its commercial presentation and the commitment a buyer might infer.

₹3.2 crore annual channel-marketing expense

Mandate

Develop distributor communication around the product and its return cycle

Outcomes

  • Moved from industrial supplies into reusable packaging
  • Built understanding of return, inspection and repeat-use questions
  • Connected distributor enquiries with the appropriate technical specialists

Decisions in context

I joined Tavqeshi in July 2007, leading eleven colleagues through two leads with ₹3.2 crore annual expense under the CEO. The company employed 130 people and recorded ₹39 crore revenue for FY 2008. Reusable containers introduced a commercial cycle that continued after the initial sale: return, inspection and suitability for another use could affect the buyer's experience. I worked with distributors to understand which questions they could answer and which required technical colleagues. A signed relationship was the beginning of that work, not evidence that support was immediately complete. The experience helped me connect channel development with the practical use of the product. It also prepared me to lead a wider marketing organisation without assuming that an attractive launch map could substitute for the capability behind it.

Reason for the move

Promoted to marketing director in April 2014

Eight colleagues through two leads
Financial scope
₹1.6 crore annual product-marketing expense

Mandate

Turn product specifications into usable purchasing explanations

Outcomes

  • Took responsibility for a marketing team and function expenditure
  • Developed comparisons around customers' intended use
  • Learned to distinguish a product attribute from a complete buying conclusion

Decisions in context

I became product marketing manager in May 1999. Nevthari then employed 170 people and recorded ₹46 crore revenue for FY 2000. I led eight colleagues through two leads, with ₹1.6 crore annual expense under the commercial director. The role taught me that a familiar product label could mean different things in different purchasing situations. I worked with sales and product specialists to understand what the buyer intended to fit, carry or operate before choosing the emphasis of a comparison. Taking responsibility for colleagues and expenditure made unclear communication a management issue rather than merely an editing task. I learned to explain why a qualification mattered to the decision and how to retain it without filling every first conversation with unnecessary technical detail. That judgement later became important in reusable packaging.

Reason for the move

Joined a specialist packaging manufacturer in July 2007

Mandate

Prepare product descriptions and support catalogue accuracy

Outcomes

  • Applied commerce study to practical business communication
  • Learned how labels affect a purchasing interpretation
  • Built experience working with sales and product colleagues

Decisions in context

I joined Nevthari in July 1993 after completing my commerce degree the previous month. The company employed sixty people and recorded ₹12 crore revenue for FY ending March 1994. I worked in a six-person commercial team under the marketing manager, without direct reports or spending authority. My responsibility was to prepare product descriptions and support catalogue accuracy, not to set enterprise strategy or approve major campaigns. The work showed me how a small label could carry a large assumption for someone choosing a product. I learned to ask colleagues what an attribute meant in actual use and to correct unclear descriptions before they became part of a sales conversation. That foundation in practical explanation stayed with me as my responsibilities later expanded to people, budgets and the wider marketing proposition.

Reason for the move

Promoted to product marketing manager in May 1999

What I am looking for next

I am exploring one first outside board contribution in industrial products or business services, where the relationship between a public proposition and the operation behind it matters to oversight. I would bring experience in product comparisons, reusable economics and channel readiness while learning the receiving enterprise beyond marketing. I have no statutory directorship; presenting to directors through the CEO is the exposure I can evidence. The fictional record includes January 2026 IICA registration and an August proficiency-assessment pass, with no exemption. These preparation facts do not determine eligibility or independence for a particular appointment. My employee-trust interest and commercial relationships would require qualified review and employer consent. Twenty-five provisional days must cover induction, preparation, meetings, travel and exceptional demands. I would seek an experienced chair and colleagues whose expertise complements mine, and would decline a role if conflicts or workload prevented a useful contribution to the whole board's responsibility.
